    Default Lucid Dreaming Hereditary?

Hi new to this site and so glad I finally found something I can relate to. Since childhood I have had lucid dreams, full colour, movie quality (if only I could plug in to a tv), 99% nightmares, re-occuring and more than one per night... I have grown to live with them and feel constantly tired when I wake up. The past month my 16yr old daughter has been telling me about her dreams and how vivid they are and colourful and weird... so my question is this hereditary? . And yes like another poster asked, how do we turn them off!

Lucid dreaming is a skill that some of us naturally have and that others can develop with practice.

    Don't turn them off...

Why do people keep asking such foolish questions?
Leave your dreams alone....Work on them always, but why in the name of creation would you want to stop them? I think that people who wish such things are gravely unaware of the dangers that such a thing could to the human animal.

I agree. Some people just do not realize how lucky they are to have lucid dreams. I have only had one real lucid and was able to remember it very clearly and it was so cool. Most of my dreams are on the verge of me losing them unless I take my time and try to remember them.

A Sleep Paralysis is possibly a hereditary disorder in which one experiences very frightening and it seems to be a good way to get into a lucid dream
