Car Crash

I'm not clear on what a dream involving a car crash means. I have read a few of other peoples dreams on the topic.

In my dream, I was driving in a car alone. I somehow lost control and crashed into another car. When I got out of my car, there were dead people laying on the ground, and there was an old man standing, looking at me, bleeding. He spoke no words.

What does this mean? Any ideas? I can't think of anything going on in my life at the moment that this could relate to, so I can't give any background to help the interpretation along.

It doesn't necessarily mean that you will be in a car crash. I had repeated dreams about me being in a car crash just a few days before a long trip. I figured the dreams' common message was to tell me just to be extra careful while driving. I was - and nothing happened beyond the ordinary.
