I'm glad this forum is here, because I do believe I had a prophetic dream many years ago. I have never forgotten it. It was 1991 to be exact, and I was still in high school. I'm sure I don't need to mention the event I believe it predicted, but as I'm learning, it may have had something to do with my own personal life too. So please help.
The real-life context. As editor of my high school newspaper, we got to go to journalism conferences at Columbia University every spring break. I immediately fell in love with NYC. From end to end, I knew this is where I was going to go to school and I fancied myself a New York City reporter. We also got to do a lot of touristy things too, so I was very familiar with the Towers, and I knew I was going to live in a NYC skyscraper. So this is what I remember of the dream. I wake up to find myself living in this high-rise apartment building. I remember getting out of bed and going to this wall window (the whole wall was a window) and looking out. The building I lived in was in a set of four that formed a sorta courtyard area. It was clearly lower Manhattan, Wall Street area. The odd thing was, with all these fancy skyscrapers, the courtyard area is fallow--patches of grass here and there, lots of trash, stray animals, lots of rodents. I look out into the sky and I see a plane on fire. A big red burning inferno smack in the middle of the plane. But again, it's the plane on fire, and not a building. But the plane is flying so low that it was definitely going to crash into something. I look down again into the courtyard area, and for the first time I notice, everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, is fighting. I saw men beating elderly women. Little girls and boys tearing at each other. Police with their sticks clubbing away at people. Women hitting men. Every scenario possible. The strange feeling I remember from that dream is that all the matches were fairly even. Nobody is winning, nobody is losing. All the elderly women, little girls, everybody is holding their own. Just everybody everywhere is fighting. At any rate, I never saw the plane crash in my dream. I never saw the lawlessness being checked. I can't recall what my emotional reaction was in the dream. I was just observing everything. But what I do know for sure is that I was not afraid of that city. I was in major love with it and still am, so it couldn't be anything pointing to any sort of fear. So what was that all about? |

Hello LolaO,
I will give my interpretation. I think it's a symbolic dream. People (or as I prefer to say "souls"), are here in this incarnation to learn. Some are at a more advanced soul level than others. Not that any level is better than another level, but I cannot find another word for it. So living high up in an apartment building with the view of looking down, I see that as you being at a higher level of soul evolution than other souls at a level below with the symbol of "courtyard area" in your dream. Wow. I never even thought of looking at it that way. Thanks for the perspective.
