I've had a shady youth. One I'm not proud of. I'll only give a little background information. A bunch of my friends would get together after school to drink. We were only 14 at the time. It was a friend's parent supplying the alcohol. Her husband did not know about it at the time.
One Friday night I had this dream. My lady friend, whom I'll call C, pitching in with the parent, whom I'll call P. They were getting a bottle of Gin. As other friends arrived, the session ensued. I did not drink in my dream. We laughed, we watched a movie (which I forgot what it was, but it was the same in the actual event). The husband found us. A fight broke, some friends dashed, and it was very chaotic. The next day, Saturday, I went to the house, and found C and P pitching together for a bottle of Gin. I explained to them that it was a very bad idea, and told them that I dreamed the day would end in chaos. I didn't explain it all to P, but I pulled C to the side and told her everything. She just laughed it off. I kept persuading them but they said I was nuts, and it was impossible. I don't know what possessed me to stay that day, but just as my dream, the events unfolded exactly to as in my dream. I refused to drink that day. Well after it all happened, C went around and told the other friends about it. I still remember the look on her face. It was a combination of shock, fear, hatred, and sympathy. I just felt powerless. I knew right after I woke up that night that dream meant something. Normally my dreams are far fetched and imaginative. They're spazzy and change often. They were never as real or probable. I'm jousting with Marilyn Manson in Old England and he stabs me. Far from realistic. But this dream, was a dream of an entire day... in logical time sequence, and there was nothing I could do to change the events. I haven't had a dream like that since, a prophetic one I mean, or rather, one that strong and dead on. I don't talk to any of them anymore, and I don't drink. It's been several years since that happened and it still bothers me. Why do these dreams happen? |

Why, indeed, do such dreams happen? A question that many of us ask but never appear to get the answer. Each of us seem to have our own individual experiences from which we draw conclusions but there are probably as many variations to those conclusions as there are individuals asking the question.
Here is a tale that was related to me in the early 1960s by the dreamer himself. He had a partner and they both were bikers. He dreamt that his partner would be involved in a road accident and that the bike would end in flames. His partner had plans to use her bike the next day on a trip that she regularly undertook so on hearing of this dream she altered the route to ensure the unlikelihood of this occurrence. On her journey she had an accident and the bike broke into flames (it should be added that her injuries were slight). Would you have any suggestions yourself related to this question of 'why' now that you know of this tale, one, possibly, that could help us to understand better? I have my own views which I have carved-out over a life-time of having extra-sensory perceptions but my best advice would be to develop your own. All that I am prepared to say is that I feel that I am not alone on this secular plane on which we exist. It is all subjective. A PS here; how many youths have done things that as adults they dare not seriously dwell upon otherwise it would embarrass them; it's all part of the maturing processes; those crazy, hazy, days! I have been having prophetic dreams and premotions comming true since I was little tot! Based on my experience, we dream these things so we have a chance to demostrate compassion on a fellow human being. If they refuse to lestin and get into trouble, that is their own fault, not yours! More than likely, they were already headed in the wrong direction, and put themselves in a situation that will hurt themselves. You acted unselfishly by warning them of what is to come! Even if they don't lestin, and mock you at first, and it comes true, it emphasizes to them that they had the opportunity to change, but didn't. They will consider changing their lives for the better. I am surprized, very surpirzed at some people who do take lestin carefully because often based on their character, they would be the last person in the world I would expect to lestin, but when they do, they start to make little changes to become better.
The Bible explained it best in Ezekiel chapter 33, GOD said if a messenger knows disaster is comming and warns the people, and the people don't lestin, the people who ignored the warning are responsible for the consequences. If the messenger annouces danger is comming and the people lestin, they save their own lives. People who ignore hurricane warnings and warning to prepare to be stranded a few days, are a good example...they are responsible for the cosequences of their decision to stay and not prepare...not the gov't..not their neighbor...only themselves... In short, we get these dreams to give people the chance to save themselves from themselves. Last edited by rocketsquirrel : 06-14-2007 at 04:47 PM. |
