Hi. I think I may have had a phrophetic dream and I was wondering if you might tell me if you think it is phrophetic or not. Thanks.
I had one just the other night, and it is only like three others I have had. I'll put all three here if that helps you any. I want opinions on the first and second, but the third has happened already, so if you want to comment go ahead. I remember the dates clearly because I wrote them down in my diary. These dreams are different from others in the following ways: 1. They are very realistic. It's more realistic than my memory of actual things that have happened in real life. They are detailed and I just know things about what happened and I don't know how I know them, like feelings I get about people in them and stuff. 2. They are all from my perspective, although I cannot control what I do in the dreams; I can just watch what happens, but feel stuff like if it's hot or surfaces of stuff I touch. 3. I can remember them really well. Most times I cannot remember my dreams at all. 4. They are very short, the longest is the first, which seemed to last two minutes. By time, I mean that they seem short; I don't know how long they last in real life. Dream #1, Night of May 21st 2007 In the dream I was in my kitchen with my my family. My Grandparents and Mother, who live with me, were chatting and having a good time with my Uncle, his wife, and their kids. I had a holiday-ish feel to it. I was standing in front of the fridge drinking something. I think it was ginger ale, I don't really remember. Anyway, my Mom said that we were out of milk and left for the store to get some. My mom grabbed her purse and I set my drink down on the counter and followed her out. Outside it was warm and a little humid. It was also close to sunset. I had heard a noise and looked up, I was standing in the driveway just outside of the side door. Above I saw two airplanes, both going the same direction and flying very low. I don't think they were passenger planes, like the ones that come out of airports. One was a bit higher than the other. I stepped a bit foreward until I was pressed agianst the wall of the house, which is brick, and watched as the plane on the bottom moved up to hit the plane on top. They exploded and debris fell Judging by where my house is the planes were coming from the west and going towards the east, and they weren't directly overheard, a scratch bit to the north. Some debris fell over where they were. I think the planes were silver and had a vapor trail. The instant they exploded I could hear my heart beating really loud and was really scared. Dream #2, Night of November 12th 2005 I was in the main school lobby area, and so were many other kids in my class. We were all dressed up in formalwear and stuff, I remember many girls had on elbow-length white gloves and had clutch purses with them. There was music in the background, though I can't tell what kind it was. Classical, I think. Then, the earth shook and bits of dust fell from the ceiling. Some people tripped and fell, but I held onto the open door to the auditorium which was right behind me. People, particularly the girls started screaming and running for the front doors. I ducked into the dark auditorium to avoid the stampede and leaned by back against the cold brick wall. I tilted my head up and closed my eyes, and my right hand curled around a dark blue choker necklace. I have one and usually wear it for good luck, but the thing is it's not a necklace; it's one of those stretchy hair band things that nobody wears for a hair band, it's usually worn as a choker or bracelt. It was wierd that I was wearing it because I was wearing jeans and a black t-shirt with the necklace and not formalwear like everyone else. I have to go; I'll post dream three here soon, but what do you think of the first two? |

As you probably have discovered from the your third dream that prophetic dreams can only be recognised after the event. What you seem to be experiencing is lucid dreaming. This type of dreaming can be invoked or may happen spontaneously when the dream seems more real than reality; when one is unable to distinguish between either sphere until one awakes from sleep. It is possible to develop control over the events when lucid dreaming and you may wish to read about the studies undertaking on this topic.

Hey,
this is what I have about plane crashes...: About the plane crash there is: Book no 1: whatever the cause of the crash it signifies an achievement, the bigger the crash the better you'll do. Book no 2: according to freud anything to do with plummeting means you have a fear of impotence (bless you can always count on freud to make everything sexual) Book no 3: symbolises a feeling of loosing control during a transition from one part of your life to another. Hope it will help you a bit....

So far, I see three commonalities between your 2 dreams: they start out festive, you are against a brick wall ,and they end tragically.
Try to figure out what has been going on in your life right now. Are you going through a transition? (I gather from dream #2, you may possibly be high school age. ) Will you be graduating and leaving home? (family and friends in your dreams). Are you undecided about your future? (Ie: against a brick wall.) Do you feel out of control of a situation? (chaos in your dreams.) Does your dream #3 reflect any of your feelings from the 1st two dreams? Let us know how you figure this out! Good luck, Bright Dreamer |

Thanks for the advice. I am in middle school right now and go to High School next year, so there is a transition there. I won't be leaving home though, the high school is just on the other side of town. There's nothing really out of control right now. The third dream there was a panicy feeling to it, much like the first two. I'll have to think about it more.

Dream three took place on March 21st 2003. Though it was a while ago, I remember it clear as day.
In the dream, I walked into the local funeral parlor with my mom and grandparents. There was a big Christmas tree in the center of the room. My eyes popped out and I had major deja vu. I went into the viewing parlor on the right, more like rushed in, and looked at the body in the coffin. The dream ended before I was able to get a really good look, but I could see it was an elderly white male. I've been to a few funerals, so that's how I know how the parlor looked. There's only that one in town, so everybody gets laid out there, unless the family wants them in another city closer to the rest of the family. December 15th 2003, my uncle Ed died and the exact same thing happened in real life as was in the dream. It was really freaky and I told my mom about this dream, who confided in me that she had had a similar one predicting a cousin's miscarriage. |

Hello Erik,
From my own experience, I think from how you characterize your prophetic dreams (item 1-4), that it's not possible to know if the dream is prophetic or not. It's like there is an underlying law in the universe that will not interfere with your own free will. If someone clearly told you in your dreams that that is a prophetic dream then you would immediately act upon that and not from your free will. This is a generalization and it's not true for all people, but that's all I can give you. Also, sometimes what is given in a prophetic dream is an exaggeration so you will pay attention. For instance, the nights before I made a recent daytrip I had the same dream that I was in a car accident. It never happened and after the trip the dream never returned. But it did alerted me to drive carefully. So even if the dream is truly prophetic, details may be given in other meanings than being concrete events. Warmly, Tomas |

Hello, as you can probably feel the heaviness of the times right now, I say your dream is phrophetic. Go with your gut, because I had the same dream about planes going east this was before 9-11, I had seemed to dream constantly this same dream. Only the planes were from south to north as far as the eyes could see and they stretched from east to west as far as the eyes could see and they were all headed to the east. The landscape around me was completely burned, no houses or buildings or trees, everything was completely desimated. The noise of the planes was deafening.
