Default Has anyone tried brain wave entertainment?

I am considering buying one of these CDs - I am hoping to expand my lucid dreaming.

http://brain.web-us.com/productlist.htm

I like many others here see/predict the future from time to time - all pertaining to my life, but would still like to be able to control it or understand it better. If I have learned anything, the subconscious is a powerful thing. Even if the visions are interpretations of my surrounding or based on interactions, I want to have more.

There is a shareware out there called cooledit that had a feature in it where you can make your own recordings and inject the brainwave stimulis into it. I even found schematics for a pair of LED glasses you wore while you sleep. The glasses flashed to the frequency. If you imbedded them into those night shades people wear it was quite comfortable.

I went through a phase like this (you can tell) but nothing really worked. Lucid dreaming happens most often when you are stressed out, or some medications do it (talwin). Talwin is a pain med that I took for a ba shoulder a while back. Don't rush out to find it, because the lucid dreams it induced where often disturbing at best... If you know what I mean.

If something is really weighing on your mind lucid dreams occur naturally. It is generally not something you would want to induce. Dreams are a way of processing the mind's thoughts while you rest. It is a natural mechanism that keeps us sane. Inducing it, or even attempting dream control is not really considered healthy.

Default self-hypnosis works best in my experience

I 've had really lucid & memorable dreams by placing myself in a state of deep hypnosis about an hour before bed. I focus on an object I like...something captivating...like a small crystal ball. I imagine a light, doesn't really matter what color, any color I'm in the mood for, and imagine it moving up through my feet to my head, healing and relaxing...filling all my cells with light. Then I just let images come to my mind...let my eyes get a little tired. Another variation I use is to imagine I am in a beautiful garden or taking a journey out among the vastness of the solar system. I seem to sleep deeper and better. Taking time, whenever you have a moment, to practice relaxation and clearing your mind will help...and a healthy diet and excercise will maximize the effect

I can fall-in-line with all that has been said as I have travelled the same road. I found some machines and CDs (tapes in my case and sometimes biofeedback) helpful but only in a small way and not sufficient to recommend them to anyone else. I would suggest that the best method of advancing is your frame of mind or your attitude or belief system. To gain from this one must be totally objective yet at the same time never to doubt the likely benefits. Any lurking doubt will manifest itself. The French psychologist Emile Coue described it as the battle between the will and the imagination. If the two are in harmony then the event will come to pass but if they are in conflict, the imagination will win the day. One can certainly improve through self-belief but my experience tells me that each of us has our own personal limitations but I stand to be corrected on this point. You might be intertested in the following two URLs if you have not already heard of them: http://www.cerebralhealth.com/ and http://www.irva.org/. Lucid dreaming is easily induced but kind of scary at times especially when one is uncertain about which world one is in! The reality in each case is almost identical. When one does awake from lucid dreaming it sure is nice to be alive again that's if one can be truly certain of one's whereabouts!

Keep in touch!

You might find the information on this URL of some interest:

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Lucid_Dreaming

and that too at:

http://www.realityseeds.com/blog/200...te-second-life

another more interesting site with some practical help might be found at:

http://www.fourmilab.ch/rpkp/

This latter site is excellent at learning how to develop positive thoughts and interestingly, to retain them which, initially, can be amazingly difficult.
