Default do you think i am having prophetic dreams

I have two questions:

1) Do you think I am really having prophetic dreams? (based on the examples I give below)

2) If you do believe that I have an ability, do you know of any way for me to hone or improve upon it?

The dreams started about 5 years ago. Always about random stuff, never anything too important. And they usually, if not always, come true within a day or so. I believe they are prophetic, but then I have always been megalomaniacal. I can imagine there may be a strong argument that they are merely coincidental and/or a factor of strong intuition skills. That I put to you...

The dreams:

1.
The first one I can remember happened in the spring of '04, in it I was in a frozen river near my house (although as I said, at the time it was spring irl) and two young boys whom I did not recognize were pulling me up from a hole in the ice. When they had pulled me free, they fell in and, being too tired to struggle free after pulling me up, drowned. The next day my Literature professor told us a story about two young boys who had fell through the ice over the winter and drowned.

2.
The second one was about a random girl who I had met briefly in my schoolboy days. She had known my brother and our parents were friends. The day after I had the dream my parents came to visit and they showed me a current picture of her, which her parents had sent them.

3.
This one was not a dream proper. Rather, I was dreaming a rather peaceful and serene dream when I was suddenly gripped by an unexplainable terror. Before I could consciously react what felt like my body being wrenched upright woke me, really I had just pounced into a sitting position without realizing it. A second later there was a loud crash in front of me. A huge book that had been sitting on a shelf above my bed had just landed, right where my head would have been. I at first simply concluded that I had dislodged it with my sudden movement. But then I tried to recreate the event, and, try as I could, I could not get the book to move the second time. I even tried smashing full-on into the wall the shelf was on, but itl was too sturdy.

4.
I had a dream that a girl was ranting about how smart this guy I had known in high school was, because he had grown up to be an engineer; and that I was not nearly as smart. I tried desperately to convince her that I was smarter, citing test scores, but she was stalwart. The next day a girl I had been talking to online became irritated with me and told me that all her old boyfriends were smarter than me because they had good jobs, she said, "most were engineers."

5.
I had a dream that I was at the mall with an unfamiliar but attractive strawberry blonde chick. I showed her my brand new sliver casual/walking shoes and she said they were really nice and that she had to get a pair. I could not figure out who the woman could be. I tried piecing together women I had known, thinking she must have been a composite, to no avail. The next day my friend and I went to see Final Destination 3. In the opening scene two women are sitting with a guy at a race. One of them was that woman. I turned to my friend and told him so, but he only laughed. Later in the movie she goes to the mall with her friend and asks her if she likes her new shoes. When they panned down to her feet, wouldn't you know it, they were a pair of silver casual/walking shoes.

6.
The other day I had my first "experience" that was not a dream. I suddenly got the notion that it would be cool to be able to switch my consciousness into an animal. Though it was a random thing to suddenly come up with, I liked the concept so I mulled on it for a bit. Later that night I read the latest chapter in the book I was currently into, and in it one of the characters gains the power to shift his consciousness into an animal. The book had done some foreshadowing that the boy was going to gain a power. And there were animals involved. But THAT particular power seemed to come out of nowhere, and caught me off-guard. Well, only in part, obviously. So I still think it a bit too random for me to have subconsciously predicted.

So, those are it. There have been a few more, but I can't recall the details. So what do you think? Do I have an ability? If so, I really don't care why I have it. I don't see it as a burden. And it doesn't bother me in any way. If it it were to be true, then it would mean I could SEE THE FUTURE, folks! That. Is. Awesome. My only question then would be, how do I do it better?

You know what's happening to you. Sure, you have a gift. keep reading books about spirituality then you will fully understand. Start writing your dream in a diary. I read many book and researched until now i'm still researching for I want to know more. My first book "The messages"was already published and my second book "The Messages of My Dreams" my dream diary (prophecies, warnings and reminders) about to publish. Visit www.lauriescreations.co.uk

Interesting dreams.

My opinion is that everybody can have dreams that come true.

To me, many dreams are symbolic representations of what's going to happen soon. We dream and a few days later, the dream intents manifest in physicality.

Thanks for the advice Lauc. A diary in particular seems like a good idea.

lee,
I am glad you found my dreams interesting, I tried to recount them in a manner that would not lose interest. I'm not sure I share your idealism entirely, in viewing dreams, exclusively or even largely, as veritable windows into the future. I still think dreams are primarily a way to process memories and resolve inner conflicts. But I think, given that time is a dimension like the other three, we can therefore sometimes see further along it, just like in the right light we can see further along the spacial dimensions than we normally would be able to. As to your other point, I really WANT to believe that everyone can do it, because I abhor being different. My line in life has often relegated me to the role of outsider, and I don't like it one bit. But it is only rarely, if at all, that I have found anyone irl who can do it. Perhaps that is because they don't remember their own prophetic dreams as well, or perhaps theirs are more obtuse in some way. I hope so.
