| Prophetic Dreams Do you see things in your dreams that predict the future? Have you had a dream that you think is prophetic? This is the place to talk about it! |

I've only posted here once or twice so I have a question. Is this forum for Fundamentalists only? It sort of seems that way. If so, please tell me so I can find a website where everyone is encouraged to share their dreams. There are some people here who keep making predictions of terrible cataclysmic events that seem to fit in with their worldview of the 'endtimes'. That is fine, but I think other posters have a right to disagree with the possibility of those things happening.
I tend to believe more in the dreams people who occasionally post a dream they think may be prophetic rather than people who are constantly making predictions and are sure they are right because God told them. There are post all over the internet like that and their predictions never happen. Some people state information that comes from the news as if it is a prediction. Sometimes people repeat predictions that people on other websites have already made. I assume anyone is allowed to make predictions or share their dreams here, but I think its also fair to consider that others have a right to comment if they disagree with the possibility of those things happening. |

I agree and see your point, Celine. This being a free, public site, it kind of operates on the trust factor that people will post actual dreams they've had for the sake of understanding them better, but with it also comes people with other intentions (like selling something, or wanting to teach more than learn), and things that can be exploited (like creating another account to pat yourself on the back & give the impression that others agree with you, or talking bad about someone ("behind their back") after the "Ignore Function" has been used, knowing they won't see it. As long as membership here is free and public, it seems to just be something we have to deal with, and I consider it a fair trade. True, anything could be passed for a dream on here, with all kinds of ulterior motives, but I still don't have to look very far to find dreams similar to my own (to see how the interpretations play out) and more enlightening things to think about, and at least this site has a "Report Post" feature that's worked pretty well for the obvious ones (saw a post advertising discount computers or something, flagged it, and noticed it was gone by morning).
I'm fairly new to researching & understanding dreams (though I've always been a deep sleeper/frequent dreamer), but I've seen quite a lot of beginners (to both this topic and these forums) raise questions & make observations that seem just as interesting, relevant, and helpful as others that have been around for awhile. Since I look at this site as a free education on dreams (never could afford college and didn't wanna get in debt like the rest of my family), I value the beginners' perspectives at least as much as the ones with more experience and re-search, as it helps form the transition to a better understanding of the latter. So by all means, do your own research and studying on the side, and don't be shy about posting your thoughts and ideas, even if you're just a beginner. I just try not to bother with people I completely disagree with, unless it seems necessary or like I might be able to help settle it (usually when I see a member pick on someone against their will, or state something as absolute truth that I can prove is un-likely or false). Take care & sweet dreams. Last edited by NfoJunkie : 08-03-2009 at 08:24 PM. |

The fact that someone's predictions was also foretold by someone else before is as much a confirmation of the truth of those predictions.
Of course there are some who are simply copy cats. The detailed information given by HopeJoy I find astounding. Very unusual. And I love it. JMR |

Celine,
Whoa, whoa, whoa I don't expect anyone will give you a hard time. If you don't want any commentary, don't ask for it. Sometimes I just put something out there and clearly state that I'm just posting it just because. I don't ask for help interpreting my dreams because they are usually straightforward and many times I find others here have had a similar dream. You need to understand something though, many followers of Jesus in particular do indeed pay attention to their dreams for a very specific reason, we were told that we would have dreams and visions in the end times, it's that simple. Other people don't have to care at all, just ignore it if you wish. The entire book of The Revelation of Jesus Christ is a vision. Ezekiel had visions of a future cataclysmic war in the Middle East. Daniel is a book of dreams of visions, many of which portray future events that reflect today's headlines with amazing clarity and detail. We aren't doing this on purpose or even in a vacuum, we're in good company. I can't stop my dreams any more than you can, but I won't apologize for them because some people think they are negative. In my personal view, my dreams that align with what I read in the Bible are extremely comforting and exciting because they reassure me that I am that much closer to seeing Jesus face to face! Post with abandon Celine. You'll find that most of us are live and let live types. If I have something to say to someone, I usually do it privately, so as to not ignite a silly fight. Have a great day Celine, glad you're here |
