Hi Karmicresponse,
The names of Native American tribes are spelled phonetically, of course, they didn't use an English alphabet. Connecticut is taken from the tribe who prefers the spelling Quinnetuqhut. But I kind of like Connect I Cut, as it's easy to spell when remembered that way, and living here, I figure I'm headed for getting my umbilical cord cut when I leave here.

I love all the Indian place names throughout Rhode Island (and Providence Plantations) and Connecticut. I think Earth is a womb world... we're all unborn until we're complete as children... and then eventually we will be born, each when it's our time, which may take more than one "lifetime". I don't really grok all the alien stuff, though I tried for awhile, and have done a lot of reading on it... it just doesn't resonate for me at all. Angels I experience for myself, so I do understand about angels, though I think what they are is the *real* grown-ups, the ones who've earned their wings. Most here are not really grown-ups at all, especially when they think they are.
I am also always interested in these name synchronicities as well. There is a lot of that kind of thing in _The Women's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets_ by Barbara G. Walker... you might enjoy it! She has an interesting take on a lot of things relating to spirituality.
Most of my ancestry is English, and probably also farmers and agriculturists, as Gardiner is a common name on my family tree! Plus a lot of my relatives own potato farms in Rhode Island. I've been buying Narragansett brand potatoes lately, in support of all the hard working folks there.

There was a great grandmother on my father s side who was from the abenaki tribe in southern Maine. I dont't know much about the spiritual abilities of the narragansetts. However I do know some bizarre things about the abenakis. The name abenaki is a shortened versioin of the word wabannaki. The extraterristials known as angels have another name which is annaunaki. the words wabannaki and annaunaki are almost identical with a slight variation. I have seen it written the wabannaki are direct descendents of the annaunaki. And no the members of the congregational church i went to would have never figured that one out either.
