DearIris: I liked your response on the native american issue. I'm originally from Maine myself. Altho my ancestory is basically welch (who were very much farmers and agriculturists). There was a great grandmother on my father s side who was from the abenaki tribe in southern Maine. I dont't know much about the spiritual abilities of the narragansetts. However I do know some bizarre things about the abenakis. The name abenaki is a shortened versioin of the word wabannaki. The extraterristials known as angels have another name which is annaunaki. the words wabannaki and annaunaki are almost identical with a slight variation. I have seen it written the wabannaki are direct descendents of the annaunaki. And no the members of the congregational church i went to would have never figured that one out either.

Hi Karmicresponse,
The names of Native American tribes are spelled phonetically, of course, they didn't use an English alphabet. Connecticut is taken from the tribe who prefers the spelling Quinnetuqhut. But I kind of like Connect I Cut, as it's easy to spell when remembered that way, and living here, I figure I'm headed for getting my umbilical cord cut when I leave here. I am also always interested in these name synchronicities as well. There is a lot of that kind of thing in _The Women's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets_ by Barbara G. Walker... you might enjoy it! She has an interesting take on a lot of things relating to spirituality. Most of my ancestry is English, and probably also farmers and agriculturists, as Gardiner is a common name on my family tree! Plus a lot of my relatives own potato farms in Rhode Island. I've been buying Narragansett brand potatoes lately, in support of all the hard working folks there. Quote:
