does anyone else dream of angels?

Hi Archie,

I'm not getting a direct answer either, but I can tell you how I met Ariella, and there is something passing in my mind about the old saying: "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." LOL... that's saying show you how I did it, don't just tell you an answer. Then you can do it yourself!

So, the day I met Ariella, I was doing self-Reiki along with meditation, as is my practice, and verrrry relaxed, I had a candle burning with lavender oil on it, soft music playing in the background, and I often get visions while doing that. I had been asking my guides how a person can be psychic-on-demand. I knew I was having psychic experiences, but couldn't figure out how to do it on demand, when I or someone else wanted a question answered. I'd also been told I'm unusually clairaudient (as DKDreamer also appears to be). That is, I hear guides and angels clearly, even when awake.

So I settled in, relaxed, with this question on my mind. So, if you want to know your angel's name, then hold that in mind as you go into meditation. You don't necessarily have to do Reiki... I just like to combine them. That day, shortly after I got all relaxed, I saw a vision of myself with a very tall Native American-looking woman standing behind me, much taller than I am, which I recognized as being symbolic of her greater experience, not so much about her actual physical height. I thought she was beautiful, and at first thought she had a hump back... lol... then realized it was wings folded on her back, and that she was an angel.

She actually introduced herself to me as Ariella Ravenstar. We had a long conversation, some of which was personal. I asked her if she was in fact Native American, and she said that she had always had a preference for the Native American path, and so had chosen that appearance. She said angels are always free to choose their own appearance.

She also answered my question about being psychic on demand. She said, you are listening to me now, and you hear me, right? I said yes. She said, well that is all you have to do, ask the question, listen, and repeat what is said! Sometimes, the information comes in quick visions as well, like seeing photgraphs. And since that day, when I need answers, that is all I have to do, as long as what I'm asking is asked with positive helpful intent, not for any harmful reason, and as long as the information is not breaking anyone else's right to privacy. The only time guides and angels will break a right to privacy is when I really need to know for my protection if they intend to harm me.

So, to sum up, try lighting a white candle with some essential oil, or use an aromatherapy diffuser as I do now. The oil could be sage for protection if you have any dark beings coming around you or are scared they might, or simply lavender for relaxation. Put on some good soft music without lyrics, just music. I like Merlin's Magic Reiki CD's or Dave and Steve Gordon's drum music, or other Native American CD's, or baroque classical music, which also is good for opening up your mind. Choose something that relaxes you without lyrics that might distract you. Then sit back and relax and try to clear your mind. Say a prayer if that suits you. Hold your question in mind.

This may not work the first time, and you may find that the answer comes in other ways, not straightforward in a vision or conversation at the time. But the meditation opens you up to see and hear in new ways. Guides and angels seem to want us to learn to watch for answers everywhere, in visions and dreams, but also in synchronicity (meaningful coincidence) that happens around us all the time. A regular practice of meditation helps your awareness of the Divine to open up more fully, and the more you practice it, the more connected you will be.

Remember, too, you may have more than one angel and also some spirit guides. They are not the same, though the difference is more of time and experience than anything else. Angels, essentially, have earned their wings, and do what they do for love of God/dess's creation. Guides are human, even if they appear as something else, and do what they do to help loved ones they've known before, or to finish out their Karmic lessons. They also love us, but can be a tad more impatient with us at times than angels, in my experience. They're still learning, just as we are. I love all my guides and angels though... life would seem bleak without them at times!

Hi dkdreamer, Kate is it?

I also hear my guides and angels in my right ear. Actually, I hear them inside, just above my right ear, or that is what it feels like, as if a channel opens there, sort of like when we tune in a radio and hit the correct channel. It'd different than how I hear telepathically when it's someone I know on earth, like family members, who I seem to hear in the middle of my head, or how I hear someone who is angry at me or attacking me come through (below my left ear). So I always know when it's guides and angels who are talking to me. And I always listen to the other stuff too, but don't give it the same kind of weight.

I'm not clear why your angel over Israel would look so big, except maybe it's a way of showing a recognizable map of Israel, plus saying he's watching out over the whole situation there, and wants you to see it too? I'm often seeing maps, and things changing on them, along the coastlines in particular, which I think is about the effects of global warming and the changes that will happen as sea levels rise. There is a reason, I'm sure, why your angels bring you all the sad news, but I don't know what it might be. I get *some* of that, but I seem to get a lot of other things as well, so it feels more balanced to me and less frightening and overwhelming than I suspect you sometimes feel this to be. Maybe you need to talk to them and TELL them you need more balance, ask them to bring you healing information too? I don't know... it has something to do with your own Karmic lessons though, I'm sure. I just don't know what! I find too much focus on scary events gets me down, and about the time I think that, the focus changes to other things.

Right now, it's my family... I spent the night last night in a prison, apparently following around my middle son who has a serious substance abuse problem and gets violent when he's under the influence, and ends up in jail. I think he was in line with a bunch of men all getting physicals.

The night before, I was with my ex and his current wife, #3, in what was supposed to be MY house... they had moved in. Yikes! His wife and two younger women whom I thought must be her daughters (I haven't met her and don't know her family makeup at all) were trying to wallpaper several rooms at once, and making an awful mess of it, the paper was wrinkled and crooked, but they couldn't seem to see it. My ex started bullying everyone, including me, and I remembered it was my house, and told them all to get out.

The night before that, it was my oldest son and his new wife and her little girl, out on a road trip, staying in some place that was apparently both a motel and a big shop of some sort. Someone there was piling up some stuff with the intent to shoplift it, hopefully not them, and was kind of hiding it in with their luggage and stuff in hopes it wouldn't be noticed. But a shop security guy was watching them, noting things that came from the shop. NO IDEA what that means or if it's just something going on with them. Shrug.

Hopefully, tonight I'll dream of my youngest son, who is expecting my first biological grandchild any day now, a girl, named Savannah Hope. He is also worrying me, as he's expecting results on tests for bone cancer, which I hope he doesn't have! He's been diagnosed with a bone disease, the acronym for it is DISH, and it usually only strikes geriatric patients, not 35 year old men. My brother hand bone cancer when he died of a cocaine overdose at 25, and my grandmother died of bone cancer in her sixties, so I'm rather worried about him, and also excited about the baby coming.

I just seem to see family in clusters of dreams like that, and when I'm done with that, it will move on to healing dreams for awhile, and then maybe back to seeing world events for awhile, or spending time with dreams that teach me spiritual truths, whatever. It changes for periods of times for me, though I'm never sure why! It gives me a change of pace, and often more hopeful things to look at.

So as to I´ve read, many mentions meditation, visions or rituals to have this contact. If I do it involuntarily, I´m not able yet to get concentrate. My guides were weird, I left ´em ´cause they told me we are ´gods´. I can remember a few of my lessons, but, I want know the truth about.
What I have, I didn`t pray for it , just came to M. I don`t feel alone now, someone could write about how contact guides?

Well, I agree with you! My guides never tell me that I'm a god, or that they are, thank God/dess! But we are all connected to God/dess, which doesn't mean we have the ability to go out and control everything and everyone, which some seem to wish for. Power trips are for the inexperienced. Frankly, I wouldn't ever wish for it! It was hard enough just parenting three children. Why would I wish to control the world? Ach!

You contact guides the same was as contacting angels; just set your intention to meet your guides, through prayer is a good way, but yes, many things come spontaneously as well, and then meditate and wait. Ask God/dess to allow *only* your own true guides or angels through until you know what you are doing, which can take quite a long while before you want to allow others in. Others can make for confusion, for sure.

I don't concentrate when I meditate. I relax. Concentrating is the opposite to what you want to do. You need to really relax after setting an intention to meet guides or angels. That leaves you open to receive.

There are many books out on the market about contacting guides and angels, with many methods. I share only what works for me, though I can recommend Sonia Choquette's books as having been helpful. I think she has a fairly new one I've not read yet specifically on contacting guides... do a search on her name!

Wow, this is almost identical to recurring dreams I used to have when I was very young. For me as well, they were always at my childhood home: sometimes I'd run in the house & go around with my family desperately boarding up/blocking off the windows & doors as we saw uniformed men with guns outside swarming the yard, other times I'd climb a tree & hide on the roof of my house, and still other times I'd run down the street (I quickly & poorly sketched & briefly described one of them here: ). It always begin with looking up & seeing planes begin appearing in the sky above the tree-line on the other side of the street, and start swarming across the sky at the beginning of the "invasion". I also have never escaped, and never been captured either before the dream wakes me up. As years passed, I dreamed of soldiers and planes & my old home being invaded less and less often.. I guess since my perspective is ever-changing, so are my dream symbols & associations. The last one I remember having of planes swarming the sky was years ago, years after the one before it, & different from the rest (observed a battle in the sky around a futuristic city built in the clouds or suspended above the ground on pillars or "stilts" with all kinds of strange aircraft battling each other. KIND of like Cloud City from Star Wars, but the city seemed to be rich and corrupt with fantastic statues and structures, some even made of gold I think, some of which were hit & crumbled in the crossfire).

Like you, I also have less of the soldier dream now than when I was younger. I believe that we are living in the end times. The evidence is everywhere if people would just wake up and open their eyes to the truth. I don't believe we can stop what will happen (maybe just delay it) but knowledge is power. So the dreams are a way of warning us and others (that is if they will listen). When I was reading about the battle in the sky dream the hair on the back of my neck stood up cause I have had a similar dream also. My dream was that I was in the back yard at my childhood home and it was night time and there was this gigantic hovering dark colored object floating in the sky above the house. I saw these tall gray concrete sky scraper buildings on top of the object and lights above the city and it was as if there was a whole civilization living in this city in the sky. I remember being scared and wondering what it was and why it was there. Always at the end of the dream I saw a one bright flash of light like an explosion in the sky then I wake up. I don't know what to make of this second dream.

I had a dream once that first looked like planes invading, coming from every corner of my vision. Suddenly though, they changed into descending dove symbols, symbols of the Holy Spirit, and they were heading in towards the center, converging. I wanted to make a painting or a quilt of that image, it was so beautiful! I realized there was nothing to be scared of, really.

"In the last days it will be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams..."

That is what I was really seeing... an invasion of Spirit. Look at all the people now having psychic experiences. It was not so common before!
