possible army draft dream?

about 2 years ago i had a dream, in which for some reason, i joined with the army and was sent to Iraq. The strange part was, my dream lasted about 2 years, and by that i mean that in my 8 hours of sleep, i lived over 730 days living through each and every day. i remember feeling everything like it was real, and the same was for my other senses, i could smell the burning flesh that there was, and get sick to my stomach when i had to watch new friends die.
after i woke up, i had to go to therapy for 5 months, and still go on occasion. also, i had to reteach myself everything from school, because to me, two years had passed and that information was very rusty. so i had to skip a little over a month of school.
has anyone ever had a dream like this or knows about dreams like this?
and yes b/c alot of people ask, i did have to shoot many people becuase i used a sniper rifle and did see them get hit, go down, etc. i still remember most of the dream.
btw, i havent joined the army, but am continuing my education with my wonderful girlfriend that i didnt have in my dream. (i met my gf after this dream)
