So when the dream started I was lying in bed sleeping. I was sort of seeing myself sleep. I was awoken by a bite on my foot by a white wolf. It wasnt a hard bite or a painful one. I knew the wolf was only trying to get my attention. After waking me up it then walked out of the room and looked back as if it wanted me to fallow. So I fallowed it into my living room where I found my front door wide open. I then stepped outside to find that all my neighbor's front doors on my block were wide open as well and none of their cars in sight. As if they left. When I turned back inside the white wolf was gone and there sat a raven on the arm of my couch. For some reason my father was there so I asked him what the raven was and what it wanted. He told me it was the spirit of god and he was observing. This confused me because I always thought the spirit of god traditionally came as a white dove. Anyways a few moments later the raven transformed in to a very very tall and large black man. He appeared to be 12 feet tall or more. When he spoke he only spoke to my father as if i wasnt present. He told my father that if I didnt leave I would die soon and god had a plan. He told my father that I needed to go to Brougham Bridge where I would teach. He didnt go into detail but I was confused about what he meant by "teach". The black man then transformed into a short fat farmer looking man with a goat and the farmer was shouting at his goat to get it moving and they walked out of my house. This is where things get strange... The farmer had a thick irish accent. When I awoke from this dream I felt the urge to look up Brougham Bridge. Sure enough there was a Brougham Bridge in Dublin Ireland. I have never heard of this place previous to my dream.
Can anyone help me understand this dream? I'm a 17 year old male living in central California. |

thats the funny thing about memory :P.
Even if you don't remember something, doesn't mean you can't remember it. So you might've heard it and forgotten it like five seconds later, and your brain can still pull it up somehow. not to sure about the whole dream... but, anythings possible right...? God can show himself through others, so why not?

I thought your dream was very interesting, so I did a little research and found that to indigenous people in BC a white wolf is a symbol of transformation...I was struck that the wolf tugged on your heel as if he wanted you to follow him, suggesting perhaps that you are about to undergo a spiritual transformation of some sort (depending on your beliefs). In Haida tales, the white wolf supposedly transformed himself into a killer whale so that he could hunt in the sea, giving killer whales their distinctive white markings (and also transformation again). In Celtic mythology the raven was the symbol of protection and considered a message from the spirit world. Since you saw the raven as God in your dream, that would make very good sense! Many shamanic peoples around the world have very interesting stories about wolves and ravens, perhaps this could be a start for some further research for you! I found your dream fascinating, good luck on your inner journey!

Have you ever seen the movie "Ladyhawke?" It's one of my favorite movies, about a couple who are cursed by a bishop. She has to spend her days as a hawk, and he has to spend his nights as a wolf. So they are never human together as long as the curse holds, yet they travel together, protect each other. It kind of feels like your white wolf and raven to me, in that it's a Union of Opposites kind of thing. It's fun to watch such movies as if they were dreams, and try to interpret them. I think your spelling of follow as fallow is what is called a "Freudian slip"... it is meaningful. I feel the dream is telling you not to allow your fields, your inner self, go fallow, but instead to produce, get the goat moving, don't sit around and not develop yourself. You have places to go, things to do with your life. Oh, maybe not just this minute, but this is when the development needs to start, and you may need to take things like education more seriously. I would think paying attention to dreams might have you on the right path for that to come about. Wolf is to Native Americans a teacher, one who holds many secrets of knowledge and wisdom. Raven is the bearer of positive magic, sacred magic; he does not need to be feared by anyone who isn't dabbling on the dark side. Raven speaks of potential, and boy, is this dream saying you have potential! It also seems to be warning you not to waste it, but to start now to learn and grow. You have gifts that will be needed. Maybe not in that exact place... B B... BE, BE... don't lie fallow, BE... that may be the Bridge! Or at least the beginning of getting there. I'd sure want to be researching the place, find out why I might someday be needed there! Or maybe it's a place I've been before, in a past life? What does the place hold for me, what can I find out about it on the internet or at the library? I wonder what the name means, even? My dictionary lists a brougham as a closed carriage, named after a man in Scotland. So perhaps the symbolic meaning is simply building a vehicle, that which will carry you over the bridge. Or maybe it's pronounced "broom" and I have some sweeping to do, some clearing or cleansing that is needed. Raven here is also the Unconscious, which is God, and it appears as black, because that is how we see it, that black screen that dreams unfold on. I've seen Raven flying through a night sky, with a tiny bird of light, my own consciousness, riding on his back. I know Raven well! See my name? I've also seen it as a lighted carousel spinning through a dark but starry Universe, and that is Earth, that carousel, all of us who are developing consciousness making up the lights. There is a beautiful song written by Cat Stevens, that starts out, "Morning has broken, like the first morning, Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird, Praise for the singing, praise for the morning, Praise for them springing straight from the Word." My comments about Wolf and Raven were taken from "Medicine Cards" by Jamie Sams and David Carson... there's much more there in their book! They have the most loving view of animals in dreams, as guides and totems. I highly recommend them! I love this dream! Don't eat any cans, now! |

I guess it does depend on your religious views. Do you think your dream has anything to do with the current potential for swine flu to outbreak in CA?? The wolf trying to pull you, the raven (which Can be a sign of death or dark forces) saying you'd die. Then there's the Giant. Interesting, indeed. Sounds like an angel, but as far as an angel of light or darkness I couldn't say for sure although it didn't sound as though it was trying to destroy you, right? But as seen by the other posts there can be quite a few different interpretations to dreams with wolves and ravens (and other animals of course) depending on colors of the animals, depictions, behavior of the animals, and the general feeling of how comfortable You are with the whole thing, like how You perceived your dream. Of course it depends on a persons background too how they will put their 'input' to assist you. Let me suggest a lot of ppl will have good points and all be 'right' in a certain way. My advice would be to write down your dream painstakingly, go over it, write down your initial observations and feelings and decide if you are going to pursue that path or not. I think it means you have a choice to make.
