Default BILL against Home GARDEN!?

For those who want to Grow there own Garden incase of a Food Stortage you better take a look at BILL HR 875....
Unfortunately, for those who think you can grow your own, think again there is a bill that was past, HR 875 which makes you a criminal if you do not use "THEIR" dangerous chemicals at about 53 seconds into this video

YouTube - Matrix News Network Breaking News Episode #329

Why would they go to this Extreme? For what purposes do they have other than their own agenda??

Default HR

I have to say, I do think this is sinister. There are four grain companies in the world who control most of the grain, and unfortunately seeds as well, of many kinds. There is a concerted effort to control the seed supplies of the world. I took a permaculture course from one of the cofounders, Bill Mollison and he warned us against this. There is even a suicide seed gene, good for only one generation or crop. That way farmer's have to buy again from the seed companies. Think about it; there is contamination from GM corn to regular and vice versa. What if that gene gets loose...

A crop of GM corn was planted in South Africa by 1000 farmers [read this article the other day], and 280 crops failed. Corn looked normal, but produced no seed.

This is dangerous folks. I for one would like to see Monsanto fail. Maybe we could start an international boycott of everything we can think of they sell.
I think we'll be very upset when we find out everything they sell.

Default buying seeds

I agree with both of you, this law is appalling (and stupid too). But, there are still lots of places to get good seeds. Check out the Whatcome County Seed company on the internet.....they take even small mail orders. I've got red and purple carrots from them, and hardy tomato varieties like the Siberian black tomato (matures much faster with dark almost purple flesh), they specialize in very hardy native species and are very reasonably priced. As for the government, no one is going to tell me what I can and cannot grow. My backyard garden is carrots, beans, radishes, beets, tomatoes, lettuce and herbs, we have a compost for kitchen waste and are completely organic. And it really isn't that much work once you get going. There are two of us and we both work at home (which is quite convenient), so when we take breaks we go out and putter in the garden. The rewards are worth the effort, they truly are. But I'd stock up on seeds now. For $50-75 you can be on your way with a decent patch of veggies. Two years ago, I got over 300 tomatoes from a patch about 10 x 10, turned many into sauce and froze it, made salsa, froze some whole even and we had lovely, pure homemade sauces all winter long. Here's the link to Whatcom Seeds:

Hey, even if you don't use all the seeds yourself, store them! No one knows what it will be like next year. Get your friends to so the same, while great variety is still available that is not GM. And packets of good seeds may be valuable trade goods in the not so distant future. I've been very pleased with my own attempts, clumsy as they were in the beginning - you do get better with a little practice, and composting your kitchen waste is good for the planet too, as well as nourishing your garden in a wholesome way.

hmm I have heard of this before. But I have found it harder to believe since the Obama's have set an example by starting their own organic garden at the White House. Many of the seeds they have used are even heirloom variety and the garden is being used also to teach local school children. So there's a bit of misinformation somewhere. We have laws here concerning farming, selling of vegetables/fruits etc. The most rediculous thing to have come out of it has got to be making it illegal to sell odd shaped carrots and other produce that does not meet certain criteria ie size. That by the way has been repealed thanks be. So I would not panic yet. However, I am a great supporter of heirloom seed projects and grow them myself. I also have vari coloured carrots and the black tomatoes amongst other strange and wonderful things growing in my garden just now. It's great fun for the kids, and certainly saves us money as organic food is expensive here. And organic gardening, well what can you say? As nature intended!
