cherubin101,
I was actually pointing that verse out to my husband last night in Matthew about Jesus saying the end times will be like Noah. It also says in Noahs time, people were Eating,Drinking, & Marrying. and to be Prepared because for those people who are not prepared the end will come like a Thief in the night. (also because they did not want to LISTEN to Noah & probably thought he was Crazy)....but he did what he was suppose to. "Jesus said do not wait for certain sign... Luke 11:29 ..."this generation is a wicked generation; and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah." That is very interesting because I had been thinking that America is so Blindsighted by whats really going on in the rest of the world that we will be the last to be Effected but it will come with a Huge price (we wont expect it) I think the Signs are there but only if you DIG DEEP will you find anything. BTW, what is the sign of JONAH?? |

cherubin101: no apologies needed, there is much information to learn in regards to the times when scriptures will be fulfilled and Jesus will literally rule as King on earth. the good thing is we're all concerned about it, I think that's a good sign.
hazelflame: I found a good article about the 'sign of jonah.' The Sign of Jonah « Catholic Sensibility In blue text is a Orthodox priest's interpretation of the 'sign of jonah.' |

WOW, another big coincidence!!
How funny, my husband today brought home the cartoon classic Pinocchio for my 2 & 4yr old. And I was just telling him how when I was a little girl I always wondered if that was possible to be EATEN by a Whale & then come out alive.LOL I havent seen that movie in years, so for that to happen today & what I read about Jonah is a huge sign if you Ask me! "The prophet, having been cast into the sea (an image of chaos and death), is swallowed by a “great fish” or “whale,” symbol of the tomb; after three days and nights he is expelled onto the shore, in order to continue his mission to call the Ninevites to repentance." I still dont get it though; what is the Sign of Jonah?? |

Do you ever open up the bible & just start finding all these Codes from one book that are linked to other books in the bible?
Well, I started to read Psalms 108 & then I "Accidentally" found what Sceptor means. Now, after reading REV 19:11 in the past I always wanted to know what does the IRON SCEPTOR Mean?? because it states in Rev19 that a Rider on the White Horse will come down to strike the nations with a sharp sword our from his mouth. Rev19:15-He will rule them with an Iron Sceptor. Psalm108:8 Ephraim is my helmet, JUDAH my SCEPTOR. So the Rider on the white horse(Word of God) will Rule the Nations with the Redemption of Judah(Iron Sceptor?) Last edited by hazelflame : 03-23-2009 at 01:48 AM. |

[quote=Laucashel;65148]Who is the rider of the white horse? Before I come to the UK I have a dream of riding in a white flying horse together with King Philip and we landed in England. King Philip was the king of Spain when my birth country was discovered by the Spaniards in 1521 and was named Philippines in honor of him.
Two yeras after dreaming of riding in a white flying horse I arrived in England in reality and I live here since 1994. I have many biblical dreams one is on July 9, 2004 that I met a girl in the park and she was holding a blank white papers. I understood that she was about thirteen and she was smiling while looking at me. I then saw some red colour came out from her mouth while she speaks then red words spread all over the paper. I understood that those were the words of God. While she was speaking I could feel that as if I was also speaking. She then handed the paper to me but I saw a little dirt so I blew it and I felt something red also came out from my mouth and was the same what I saw from the little girl. After a while I saw myself and the little girl walking together and we were distributing around those papers with words of God. |

Quote:
"He [Jesus] comes, like his predecessor, as a prophetic witness [Son of God] to God’s work of salvation that seeks to embrace all of humankind [the first century generation onward]. And like that earlier message [Jonah's preach for repentance], Jesus’ words summon an “evil generation” – which signifies every generation, including our own – to repent: to turn from and reject the deception of idolatry and the lure of sinful and corrupting behavior, in order to welcome and embrace the One who comes to proclaim and to offer salvation to all." Just as Jonah preached repentance to the city of Nineveh lest it be destroyed, so did Jesus come to proclaim a message, that is for the last 3 years of his time on earth, Jesus spoke of the Kingdom of God and how to enter it: believe on Jesus Christ, God's only and beloved Son, be baptized in the Trinity for the Holy Spirit's sanctification, and follow the Way, Truth, and Life, and one shall be saved. Jesus is infinitely more important than Jonah. Because one can accept or reject it, and God clearly wants us to believe in Him to have eternal life. I believe Jesus was telling them that just as Jonah did not give an outward miraculous sign but a message of repentance so is Jesus doing the same for that particular generation and all generations to come. Although a miraculous event did happen to the prophet Jonah, the true story doesn't say that when Jonah went about the city preaching repentance from evil that he took out a staff and threw it on the floor and turned it into a snake, just as in the story of Moses with the Pharaohs. The essence is the same: a message of reconciliation with God was preached and one had to accept it or reject it. And the city of Nineveh accepted and repented of their sins, and God spared them and was pleased. Again, maybe that article wasn't too great at explaining. I think the author said too much especially in regards to the symbolic similarities between Jesus and Jonah (belly of whale vs. Jesus' death/Whale spewing out Jonah vs. Jesus' resurrection/3 days and 3 nights Jonah was in belly then came out vs. Jesus's death, went to Hell to open up the gates for eternal life, and His resurrection on the third day (which is total victory). So what I'm saying is he got caught up in the symbolism but in the paragraph above this , I strongly believe that Jesus spoke of Jonah because he gave no outward sign to people who needed to repent but rather preached a message of reconciliation just as Jesus was showing them the Way to salvation. Does it make sense to you? Hopefully it makes sense. Last edited by dreamintonight : 03-24-2009 at 02:20 AM. |

Thanks for understanding dreamintonight!
----------- Also I want to add, that the story about Jonah is much different than any warnings of God. Jonah coming out of the belly is a miraculous thing to the gentile. If they didn’t see this happen they probably won’t believe Jonah in the first place. People each generation wants to see sign before they believe. In the time of Noah and Abraham, God did not perform any sign to the Gentile so they did not believe and change their way until disaster comes. In Jesus story, Jesus performed to them that He would rise up in the third day some people saw it and believe and some people did not see so therefore they did not believe until all tribulation came over them and punish them for not believing. If a person doesn’t change before end time they will suffer all the consequences until it is all fulfilled. And also on this story God is showing mercy to anyone even if he is a gentile or a Jew, good or bad, poor or rich, master or a servant, pagan or none pagan, man or woman. God does not exclude anyone and Jonah knows about it too. Everyone is equal to God and judgment is not for us. If a person does something bad and not according to God’s commandment He will be the one to judge about it not us. In Jonah’s case He saw that God is merciful to anyone. This is why he tries to escape from his duty to tell Nineveh about the wrath of the Lord. Jonah wants Nineveh to be destroyed and even waited if God change His mind. God said to Jonah… “You had compassion on the plant for which you did not work and which you did not cause to grow, which came up overnight and perished overnight. Should I not have compassion on Nineveh….who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as many animals? The whole story about Jonah is like the whole story of the whole world. It is the relationship between God and Human kind. All that is living comes from God but the heart of each person He cannot have. The kind of payment we should give to God is love and caring for one another. This is the kind of statement Jesus want us to express to love one another and to love God with all our heart, with all our souls, and with all our minds. We should not worry about money or what we will wear or what will we eat or where we will lived. Jesus said… “So never worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." God is telling us to let go our worries and express our devotion to God. My husband got layoff last Monday from his job and yet people say to me “Why do you rejoice about him losing the job? Why are you not worried?” so, I just told my mother-in-law why I am happy and she wish she have that kind of spirit. …God is wonderful, graceful, and almighty and He have better plans for us if we express our love for Him. My husband losing his job is as a sign of the prophecy. It is time we serve God and not to be a slave of this world. God did say on the end of days the merchant will never make anymore money (Revelation 18:11). These past days I was doing some research for the 12 tribes and I have found there is lots of Jews already believing in Christ. This is great news! Yeah! I have faced all sorts of unbelievers on any other forum which I have to stand up for what I believe in. Even some people call me crazy about the news. It wasn’t easy but I learn how to accomplish it by believe to myself that I can do it and also with God’s help for giving me strength. This Passover which is Wednesday April 8 or Nissan 14 is the gathering for the Blessing of the sun. I have to wake up early on those days. Better yet! I have this dream last night. This is about my crush when I was in highschool. On this dream I was leaning on a stone and I was looking at my crush wondering when he will ask me out like I have been waiting for a long time. My old crush was wearing white clothes and He come over to me and he have invitation on his hand saying “Would you like to go out on Wednesday?” and I was shock that he finally ask me. There is trembling feeling in my heart I was so excited like I am going to get married. Then I wonder why? Then I remember that Nissan 14 which is April 8 is Wednesday. I think this is the sign that I must show up on those days to meet Jesus. I have been a big fan of the movie called Jesus of Nazareth when I was little I watch it every Passover and even not Passover. I also found there is a local Jewish group gathering for that events at my area where I can go which is very exciting. I lived in Illinois so the time would be different but I will wake up to express my love to God so He knows I wanted Him. Better yet I will also go out at night and stay awake so to find out what is going on because there is time difference of 7 hour advance. So to me it is Tuesday midnight. You need to see what time difference in your clock also. I hope everyone can express their love on this day. I am very excited that everyone is gathering specially the Jews and some Gentiles. I found this guy explaining what is Birchat Hachama. Check it out. YouTube - David Solomon on Birkat Hachama, the Sun, and Spirituality Love and peace to all! ![]() |
