dreams of catastrophic events

Okay, I don't get these often (that I am aware of), but every once in a while I have a dream of some disaster or other. There was 9/11, of course, I've heard lots of stories of people dreaming of that, mine was a few days before it happened and I dreamed that the stock market crashed (which it did, right after 9/11), and I saw many people jumping to their death off tall buildings (which also happened).

Since then, I have had a dream where my ex-husband's grandmother's house in Verona, NJ, was flooding and we had to go rescue her (I live in MO, the grandmother died a long time before this dream). The very next day, I heard on the radio of massive flooding in that part of NJ.

Just recently, I had a dream where I was in a restaurant that caught fire, and tried to escape out to the parking lot, but there was fire in the trees all around me and I couldn't get out. The very next day I heard about the fires in Australia where numerous people were trapped in fires and burned alive.

I know that these dreams have meaning for my life as well (I know the exact meaning of the fire dream for me personally), but my question is, what do I do with the prophetic part of these dreams, if anything??? How can I possibly know which dreams are prophetic, or use this information in some meaningful way? Or is it just useless information coming to me and I have to just live with it knowing that there is nothing I can do about it, since it always happens way far away?

I've been wondering if I'm supposed to connect with the victims in some way, for support, or if maybe my dreams are trying to get my attention to let me know that they are prophetic so I can then begin to have dreams of closer events that I can actually do something about? Anyone have any insight?

I have had similar prophetic dreams except mainly of myself & the people around me throughout my life. I believe that it is Gods way of preparing you for you own future because when your able to see apart of it ahead of time it doesnt Effect you as much if you never knew.

I also believe that if it is more about your own life than you can alter it some. For example, when I was 11 I had a dream where I got in a car wreck by falling off a cliff in Slow-motion. When I hit the ground everything went Black, then I saw clouds, then I became a Ghost at my middle school & asked god to "Please give me another chance!" I woke up feeling like I just got off a roller coster ride (Which I now know was an Out of body experience)

So anyways, about 5 years later I got in the same Car accident almost "flying" off the exit ramp where their was a Cliff. But my experience told me to Turn the Wheel all the way to the Left towards the highway (this was very difficult since the wheel was Stuck towards the right)
But I managed to turn the car the the left, Ran into the Exit sign which stopped the Car....& save me & my cousins life.

So maybe, your dreams are growing to prepare you on how to handle your "Own" life with futuristic events. I dont think you can really do anything to 'change' the outcome with other people unless your apart of it.
One way you can tell if it prophetic is if everything is Clear & Vivid.
Have you had any recent dreams that involve any specific details of your own life?

The dreams I have about myself are usually symbolic and not prophetic, although I have had some in the past where certain aspects of the dream came true. But my dreams recently have been mostly symbolic--dreams of going to camp and being lost in malls, for example.

Hello, fellow Missourian! I have been having the same kind of dreams. They have been occuring since mid-December. I would literally feel an earthquake, but I know that it is not real. Two weeks later, Indonesia had a massive earthquake of 7.0+. That really startled me. I didn't understand what was going on. Then I felt another earthquake. Then, the next day I found out that was when Yellowstone Park & California had an earthquake. After that, I soon had another earthquake feeling. Indonesia got hit w/ another earthquake of 7.0+. Now, I have been having dreams. I dreamt I was watching the weather forecast & the announcer said that there was going to be 8 storms soon coming to our homeland. The next day, I happened to run across a website. I believe it was a news station. They stated that next year, California will have 8 earthquakes. The next dream is a lil off the chart, but I will tell it anyway. I dreamt that I had this sudden urge to keep going up steps. I had to keep going up & up. Then I ended up spraining my left ankle. I dreamt that on Friday night. Guess what? I sprained my ankle while getting out of the "orchestra pit" at church. The same ankle!
I guess the last dream was God tugging on me saying, "Yes, this is Me. Listen to your dreams." I have not had one single dream since mid-December that hasn't come true.
Even if we don't dream about what will happen to us or our nation, it is God just tugging on you. He is trying to get our attention. I believe He has some big plans in store for us in the near future. The A/C will soon rise. All of His prophecies has come true. All we can do it wait.

No-one knows how or why prophetic dreams occur. My own understanding is that we are all in some way connected to each other and to our environment, because we are all made of the same stuff. We can sometimes sense what is going on in other places in the world, even if the event does not affect us personally.

Sometimes there are reasons for having these sorts of dreams, but most of the time they just happen. Unfortunately, there have been many, many documented cases of people having prophetic dreams of disasters and being able to do very little about it. Premonitions of natural and man-made disasters are some of the most well-documented cases of precognition, probably because they create so many strong emotions and affect so many people. I live in Australia and those fires have been burning for weeks. It is really awful, and your dream about it must have been awful as well. It was daylight here when you were sleeping, so it is even possible that you were actually experiencing what that unfortunate person experienced.

Whatever happens in future do not blame yourself for not being able to warn anyone of an impending disaster. People will not believe you until the event occurs, especially if you cannot give a place, time etc. (facts which are rarely provided in premonitory dreams). What is important is that if you are given a glimpse into your own future and you are given the opportunity to change it, then you should do so. If you strongly feel that it is your purpose to assist the disaster victims then by all means go ahead, but unless you feel a strong obligation to help then your dreams indicate that you are just a very intuitive person.

Ultimately you experience the dreams, and you can do whatever you like to act upon them afterwards.

Normally visions of the future can be easily distinguished from regular dreams by the way you feel when you wake up. If you awake feeling as if something or someone has drained you of all your energy and you feel that you need to call someone and warn them of impending danger then you probably had a prophetic dream. From my experience these visions are all coming from the same place (many names for it) and they usually don't give you a vision for one person but a warning for all. If you do pick out what some call a "spike in the grid" then the person you name is usually of some importance, famous or infamous. Visions of fire may be a warning of our future. Let me re-phrase that... your vision of fire is our future. Before the fire we will be hit with flooding on a global scale. What is not underwater will be destroyed by fire. The time frame? Many of my visions depicted a cross... and I have mistakenly thought this was the holy cross... It is not. According to all the ancient text, carvings, drawings, and codecs, the cross appears to be indicating the upcoming galatic alignment.

I don't know why there hasn't been much from NASA on what we are about to pass through. It seems this subject is very hushed. This galactic plane is basically a flat gravitational plane that some believe is paper thin, thus accounting for the exact day we will be passing through this plane. Why does our solar system travel up and down through this plane every 25,800 years? Try stopping a metal ball about the size of a bowling ball with a very strong magnet... it will pass the magnet several times due to size and weight, now take several hundred small metal ball bearing in vary sizes and let them go... they will gravitate or stick to the magnet (the galactic plane). What will cause the fires? As we pass through the debris field of iron meteors varying in sizes from a grain of sand to large buildings we will be showered with so many metorites that what is not under water will be burned. I am not sure what causes the flooding... possibly when we encounter larger rouge asteroids which are themselves traveling up and down the galactic plane due to their massive size, but under shorter cycles. We would encouter these larger objects first. Perhaps striking the earth's oceans causing the massive flooding? If you have a theory please let me hear it. Do the research for yourself... it doesn't look good.

What about Pole shift? Have you considered that as a possibility?

I have heard a lot about the "rumor" of Pole shifting. The Public television even had one show talking about the possibility of pole shifting. They interviewed a professor who has a theory and used a super computer to calculate when this will happen, but the show did not reveal the research result.

Personally, I think the natural disaster such as massive waves, flooding, earthquakes...etc. must be caused by something huge.

Me and my friends share our dreams with each other on a regular basis.

The first two dreams i would like to share are from two of my friends.

The first one was a dream of a giant popping noise and giant kidney shaped cloud in the sky that was orange/red and spreading quickly. In the dream people began to vanish. And many people were left behind as the blast hit.

The second dream... My other friend had a dream of a giant orange/red cloud in the sky with a demonic looking face in it that was ready to devour. In this dream me and my friend were running from the cloud and there was flooding but we were okay in the end of the dream.

Now... its time for my dream(s)

I have been dreaming of things to come lately as well. I had a dream not too long ago... That was the end of this age. There was a narrator there describing what I was seeing. He was very calm and I was feeling no pain in the dream. But there were many people mourning below me. He said "I have planted my seed in all of these vessels, and this is their destiny for not acknowledging me."

Last night i had a dream of a two headed dragon in an aquarium and a manta ray and a crocodile, these three creatures were in the sand. At first i could not see the manta ray but then suddenly the aquarium filled up with water and began to flood the three creatures began swimming in the water and were very comfortable doing so. Then suddenly the water began to disappear and they were on dry land again. Also for some reason I had a two headed dragon statue in my pocket that someone had given me earlier in the dream.

I remember taking a much closer notice to the aquarium since i had this little two headed statue in my pocket.. the statue had an extra nub on it that looked like it could almost be another head but was much smaller than the other two.

My dreams lately have been stating that the prophecy's will soon began.

I have also many prophetic Dreams that I already posted in this site. As of now I am about to finish my my second book"Messages of My Dreams" and the subtitle "My Dream Diary" with the words of Prophecies, Warnings and Reminder below it. Above the subtitle and below the title which is in the iddle is the words of LORD in vertical and GOD in horizontal that formed a perfect cross. This is the design of my book cover. In each dream has an explaination; when it happened, how it guided me, how it helped other people and some with interpretation. Like my first book "The Messages" miscellaneous proose and poetry the title and cross sign are my dreams. I could feel that I will spread the words of God and tell the people what will happen so that they can prepare if they will believe. In one of my dreams there was a little girl (about thirteen)writing her authobiography but I could feel that my hand was also writing while she was writing. While she was writing her past flashed in my head and it is about ancient time that she has written some verses about God. My next dream about this girl; I met her in the park and she was holding blank papers, when she speaks something red came out from her mouth then red words spread into the paper. I understood that those are words of God. While she was talking I also feel that I was talking of what she was talking. She then handed the paper to me and I blew the dirt but to my surprise red words spread to the paper. I then found myself and the little girl distributing/handling the papers to the people. My third dream of this girl is I got lost in a strange place. I then arrived in the old building. There is a big gate, the biggest gate I had ever seen and that little girl was in the gate holding a bundle of keys. There is one biggest key and she opened the gate for me. The gate squicked while it opened and I was about to enter then I was awakened when my husband opened our toilet door that squicked like the sound of that biggest gate. After those dreams I was able to write my first poetry book and was already published and available online.
