Dreams that come true?Help!

What does it mean? Why does it happen? This has been randomly happen's to me since I was 15 years old. It is usually not a good thing,more or less a preminition or warning. Like for example, my loving wonderful boston terrier that just died 2 days ago on black friday(hit by a truck), I had a dream about it, and where even the exact location she would die would be on a road down the street from my house, while my daughter was walking her.I had this dream 4 weeks ago. I was afraid after I had the dream. I told my kids I didn't want them to walk the dog on that road because of this dream I had, and I was afraid something might happen to the dog. The dog was 10 months old, she was my baby, I loved her just like one of my children. My daughter was walking the dog, and another puppy I just got a week ago(taking them for a potty break), and the dog broke free of her grip.Ran down the road a good 25-30 feet in front of her not stopping as she yelled for her to come back, and ran out into a busy intersection, and got hit by a truck, and died.I had a couple of adult witnesses to the acident tell me what they saw(when I arrived on the scene).Why was I warned(in my dream) if nothing could be done, and it was going to happen anyway? This has happened to me over the years, even with people I have known, not just animals,and it's totally random, because I don't know when these dreams are going to happen or what they will mean(alot of times until it happens).Does this happen to anyone else? I'm really upset about my dog. We will really miss her.

the way i look at it is that things are going to happen. and really the only way you can stop them from happening is to know every little detail. think of it like you have a radio and all it gets is static but sometimes you get catch little bits of what is being played. would you know what the song is if you only heard two words? waht keeps me up at night is that instead of four weeks after. what if your daughter would have gone for a walk the next day? would it still have happened
