Default An epiphany, finally.

Hello,

Im going to start by saying hi, I'm new to this forum and that I have a lot to say.

Im going to start by telling you a few things about me. Im a computer programmer, it is my job to understand machines. I am analytical by nature. The one thing that mystifies and intrigues me more than anything is my own mind.

Lets jump right into the epiphany that I have had, a final understanding of what I believe has happened to me. Over the course of the past 14 years of my life I have been analyzing various odd things that happen to me, such as lucid dreams. I have had at least 100 or more lucid dreams, enough to actually study various things in a lucid state. I have also "dreamed" the future.

My epiphany has to do with these glimpses of the future that I have. For years I have always believed that I "dreamed" the future. But Ive always overlooked a few things when I analyze all of the data. Given my knowledge of lucid dreaming and my ability to reality check. I can easily tell when I am dreaming. You see I naturally become lucid alot because of my logical mind.

Anyway, as a programmer I write in patterns and eventually when you study enough patterns you begin to see them everywhere. The pattern of which i speak is that everytime I dream the future something happens that does not happen when i'm in a lucid dream state and that is that I FEEL something. When im lucid I do not feel, taste or smell anything I only see the illusion provided by my mind. As an example in one of my lucid dreams i was standing in a field and the trees were swaying violently yet I felt no wind.

Also my lucid dreams 99% of the time have a trigger, the trigger being something outside of my normal realm of waking-world perception. A good example of this is, all of the cars in my dream being from the 60's, this actually triggered lucidity in one of my dreams. Anything in my dream the completely defies logical reality triggers lucidity for me.

When I have these deja vu episodes/dreams I feel and smell things as if I am actually there, And there is also NO TRIGGER for lucidity AND I dont wake up directly afterwords like I do in lucid dream episodes. These deja vu episodes/dreams are like im there for a few seconds and then gone and then I wake up hours later and remember it as if it was a dream.

Also the deja vu episodes/dreams only last for about 2-3 seconds at a maximum. They are always random and meaningless. For example that last one I had I was sitting in a car driving down the road looking out the window.... I saw a place that ive never been before.

In the past I would not know that ive dreamed the future untill it actually happened, in recent years i've made it a point to remember these so called dreams of places that I do not recognize or have never been to before.

One thing that I realize now is that it is not possible to know that you have dreamed the future untill the future has actually happened, because untill you can verify it, - via deja vu, it is ... just a dream.

Now heres the wierd theory I have. At these moments of de'ja'vu I experience a "mind blank" for a few seconds and then the "wow, what the **** just happend - ive been here before" thought follows." Now during this 3 seconds of "mind blank", I believe my mind somehow projected its self from the past into the future and that somehow my minds thoughts existed at the same time in multiple places of space/time. I know that this is hard to get a grip on.. its very hard for even me to comprehend. Ive experienced it enough to recognize this pattern.

In short I believe that somehow during a "sleep state", my mind recorded everything i saw for 3 seconds in the future as if i was there. But, I thought that I was lucid dreaming when I was there for the brief few seconds.

I still have alot of questions as I embark on this quest of understanding. Alot of questions indeed.

Since ive come to this conclusion I actually studied time travel, no joke. And what ive found out that in order to travel into the future you must travel at the speed of light, and in order to travel into the past you must travel faster than the speed of light (which they say is not possible).

I was looking into brain functions and the speed at which neurons fire, how fast does a thought travel ? is is possible to think at the speed of light???
How is it possible for your mind to project itself through time and space?

Perhaps im in over my head trying to actually understand how it is scientifically possible for this to occur within your brain.

I just want to understand.....

What I do understand now is that I did not dream the future, my mind was projected from a "present me" into a "future me" for a few seconds.

Or maybe im just crazy and im still dreaming now.

Hi MindGlitch,

Many people can explain it better than me, so I will just shortly say that in my belief system time is an illusion. Our physical world is an illusion as a matter of fact - it's a world created by our mind. It's appears as if time is linear, but everything happens at once. That's also includes all our life times. So our current lifetime can actually affect other lifetimes, both past and future.

I can recommend the book THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE UNIVERSE by Gary R. Renard: The DISAPPEARANCE OF THE UNIVERSE

It's quite mind boggling reading. Most people probably don't agree with what's in that book because it's so against our logical thinking.

Good luck on your quest to higher understanding.

Tomas

Default De ja vu, too

Hi Mind,

I too have these "de ja vus" to the point where I get totally annoyed when they happen. Strange thing about me is, when I was a girl (10 years old) back in 1987, I became very ill and the hospital didn't know what was wrong with me. During my apendectomy surgery my lungs collapsed, I was placed on a respirator (induced into a comatose) and diagnosed with empheysema (usually caused by cigarette smoking), well, there is no cure for this disease and there was little hope for my life. However; through prayer I recovered, but while I was in comatose, I always had dreams, which felt very real. I never thought I was dying, yet my loved ones saw different. I just wanted to go home! Well, here I am 21 years later and I don't use an inhaler and I have never experienced a severe asthma attack. I believe one of the dreams I had while I was in the hospital was very real...
I was lying on what seemed to be a conveyor belt...to the right and left of me was nothing but babies...Moving along the conveyor I saw nothing but whiteness...then as I continued to move along I saw a figure standing at what seemed to be the end of the belt...a hand reached out and touched me...the "dream" ended. Because I was raised a Christian and remain one to this day, I know it was Jesus who healed me and he lives in me today, the reason I don't need man made medicine to keep me alive. He breathes for me every single day.

Hrm, Ive never had a vision while awake, the visions i do have only involve me and usually are just random events the last few i've had :

: standing in the rain feeling raindrops
: driving down the road admiring the scenery
: walking through a house (which was my future girlfriends house)

I believe I identified a common thought that I had during these episodes.
At each moment during this, I had a feeling that I dont have much anymore which is that " is it wonderfull to be alive". A moment of happiness and awe of gods creation. That I dont experience that much anymore as an adult. Each time, at the moment of deja vu I was admiring the beauty in the world.

Im not really sure what that means as far as the purpose of showing me this. Perhaps god is trying to tell me something I don't know.

I used to be a person of faith, and I still believe in god. I can not believe in a universe without a creator. But an understanding of religion and the pressures of the world have led me away from the faith I once had and the beauty that I saw in the world.

I dont take for granted the days when i can wake up and say, "its a beautiful day and it feels good to be alive".
