I dreamt of my boyfriends death while it was happening

In my dream he was a small boy, about 10 yrs old. And i remember feeling as f i were responsible for him, we were walking all around an old apartment building which was exactly like my late grandmothers, through stairwells and hallways, i was also carrying two unlit red candles, all of the sudden I heard his mother calling out for him from the hallway while we were in the stairwell, i told him to wait there while I went to go talk to her, after his mother went to go get him from the stairwell, i waited in the hallway. when she came out the stairwell he was not with her. She said he drowned in a puddle. After that I was cursing myself for leaving him alone, the all of the sudden he came walking through the stairwell doors...And I woke up. My boyfriend drown that day, at approx. the same time. Its all really fresh to me, so i posted the links from the papers so you could see how it happened. I know by the time he passed away and the time of my dream there is no way i could of contacted him to tell him stay out of the water. I was hoping someone could explain this all to me and maybe let me know what it all means. Will he visit me again? Will I see him in my dreams? Was it god giving me the dream? Was it my boyfriend needing me at that time? Im so confused...

Hi, I am so sorry for your lose! It cant be easy for you to deal with such a tragidy, but rest asure there is nothing you could have done, I cant say I am an expert on such dreams or interpretations but I can say that this means you had a real connection with your boyfriend and he with you! I can say with experience they always say that a person will come to you in your dream when they pass, but it is not certain when it will happen, for instance my aunt passed away and it wasnt until a year later that I got my dream and I only got to ask her one question it was "How are you?" she told me she was happy where she was and that was all I needed..
