What helps me is asking a clear and defined question before I go to bed, and repeating it in my mind once or twice, personally I make it vague. Think of yourself as a sort of a radio broadcasting tower. You can choose to tune in on what you want, and some of it does get scrambled from interference. However, you can combat this by meditation, I dont mean going overboard wasting huge periods of time, all it takes is 5 mins, if that, at the most. Although those things help me, It all started around the age of 12 and has gotten stronger seemingly every year [im 17]. So I do think some part of my brain got activated when I hit adolescence. Im not sure how a scientist would go about looking into that. Im not sure if you have any spiritual beliefs but I from exprience I feel that there is a connection.

One should not 'specialise' these abilities, they are normal, much like most are born with sight; we see, some can see further than others, most people have a intuitive cataract, this blinds them or limits their vision, USAman doesn't have this disease, and I sincerely hope never gets it. I think 'intuitive cataract' as I call it, is a societal disease, based on beliefs taught by people who do not want this ability in the majority of people.

Yes USAman, I have a very strong spiritual connection, I am not religious, and never will be, I have a knowing and that is all I need, it gives me a lot of comfort and peace.

I don't need to be told who to look to or believe in, I don't need to give a name or gender either. I don't need to be 'God Fearing,' that term is a contradiction, Love cannot exist at the same time as fear exists, you can love or fear but not both at the same time. I choose Love.

I have often wanted an answer to a problem and asked 3 times for a solution, it normally works to but not always the way I would have liked. I also get Idea's lots of them, sort of awake inspiration. Sometimes, daft things like how to improve a microwave, make something more efficient, change a fitting to make it safer, silly I know but these idea's do work. I think I get this because I'm open and I'm always listening. I call them my little eureka! moments lol!

But small things can have a big effect on the lives of people, so just go with the flow and let it happen.

As for religon, I was just throwing that out there. In my opinion its a personal choice; love it, hate it, or find your own way, theres something for everyone.

That aside, Its interesting how you come across complex solutions when you sleep even though the logic section of your brain is turned off. What do you think of the plane theory? Theres a real name for it though. It pretty much states that there's planes of exsistance that overlap our own world and current time, or concept of it anyway. Transcendable? After all, we are just energy. It fits in with your bubble analogy.

Planes: I think the possibility exists to have two or more energy fields co-existing. The problem we have is that science, doesn't consider the spirit, nor does it have the ability to prove its existence... yet!

Western science was born out of a lack of trust between the faithful and the faith givers, this happened approx 13th Century, the loss of faith in the churches led to the new pseudo-religion called science, up until then the masses followed the belief as told to them by the major religions. This new pseudo-religion basically asked questions, questions about everything around them, it became the pseudo-religion of curiosity.

Unfortunately science lost its soul, and limited itself in doing so. The lack of spirituality in science will always hinder its development and the development of us as humans, the planes on which others may exist will remain hidden until we have a complete science. I believe we are more than just this, I also believe we exist as one being with multiple facets, one being flesh, and more as spirit, within spirit we also have facets, I believe I have a higher self; a part of me on another plane (in the middle of the bubble) so to speak, when you have that vantage point, time is no longer a hindrance what you see then are the infinite possibilities.

If I think about spirit I feel like I'm home.
