Ok so 2 years ago was the first time i dreamed of this man. I could remember his name and physical features.
I kept having dreams about him... A few months later I met this man who looked exactly like the one i had always dreamed of-- and had the exact same name. I've experienced prophetic dreams since childhood and i dont think this is an exception. I dream about him often and always in romantic ways. I even remember dreaming about seeing a daughter we had-- who looked like an exact combination of the two of us. I wonder if he is my soulmate.....? |

Not having any personal knowledge of you it is not easy to answer your question but what you say is interesting.

Ok well I'll give some background info.
I've had prophetic dreams since I was nine, when I dreamed of my grandparents coming to visit me as a surprise on my birthday. But 2 years ago I had a dream that I was in my late 20s (I'm not yet!) and I saw a man walk into my house. I saw myself turn around and notice him. I had a huge smile on my face and ran to the door. We embraced and he gave me a big kiss. I kissed him back. Then we started talking, although when I woke up I couldnt remember a word. He got down on one knee and proposed. I said yes. When I woke up I remembered every detail about him, and his name. From that point I dreamed about him often, and in most of them (if not all!) we were in romantic situations. A few months later I met this guy- same eyes, same smile, same name, same face. He moved a few months later, and I rarely see him. When I first had the dream, I was single. After seeing a few people, I am single again. To this day I continue to dream about him. I believe he is my soulmate, but I'm not so sure. Any ideas? |

You say that you had the dream 2 years ago and met the man some months later; how then has the relationship developed? Do you think or believe he is still your soulmate?
There is a modern film of the same theme but with a different plot; sorry, I cannot recall its name. |

No relationship has developed. We've had a short conversation before but that's about it. He moved away a while ago.

I do not want to burst your 'bubble' but at this moment in time, as you are aware, the dream is not transpiring in the manner that you had possibly hoped, but, interestingly, it does appear to have been predictive in that you both met as in the dream.
Here's a personal anecdote: as a young teenager I had a similar dream about a female who subsequently moved to another country. Many years later, after the loss of my first wife, we again met, when my dream of all those years ago transpired to the letter (as far as I can recall). For a short spell we did move into a relationship but neither of us were prepared to move to the other's country of residence and subsequently we moved on to other relationships but both of us were disappointed. I think it was simply that our values differed. I am still very fond of her and we correspond but I love to bits my present wife. There was, however, a period when I had thought that the dream meant that we would be long-term partners while all that it actually indicated was that we would meet again. |

Interesting. I can understand from your coming from, but I can't help but believe it really means something. I keep dreaming about it. It's not like I never see him, because he does visit, and we still have many mutual friends. As a matter of fact he was at a party I went to a few weeks ago.
But what do I know? I'll just wait to see what the future holds for me. |

What do we look for in people? maybe its what we aspire to be ourselves... who knows, time as we create it will tell. I feel what you have found is a very close assimilation to a dream person; a soul mate - well, in looks and mannerisms anyway.
Did it just happen; a random occurence, or was it really destiny? or did your subconscious alert you to a match from the dream? again we may never know. Our emotions are very powerful drivers and sometimes stop us from using good judgement. As an example my girlfriend sometimes has fear dreams, she dreams what she fears the most; me betraying her with another woman. When she wakes her dreams are so lucid she behaves as if I have actually committed the act of betraying her and consequently I get the attitude associated with it. This is just an instance of how dreams can affect waking life and how strong emotions can drive our behaviour. Because you have a strong romantic attachment to the dream guy, its only natural to transfer these feeling onto the reality guy. But as we all know fantasy and reality are very different things. It would be wonderful if you did find a soul mate and I really hope you do, I'm just not sure this guy is him. I would hate for you to get hurt in this way, so tread lightly on this path of now. regards lee Last edited by darkan9el : 03-23-2008 at 01:20 PM. |
