Huge explosion. A big city being evacuated.

I had this dream in 1995 or 1996.

I was in a large city, but I’m not sure which one. The time of day was mid-afternoon and the sky was clear and blue except for a gigantic explosion, high in the atmosphere, which spread and blotted out the sun. I did not hear the explosion. Everything was oddly quiet.

The explosion looked like a gray ball of smoke with fingers coming out of it, shaped sort of like a spiny, sea urchin. The blast was far away, making it seem like it was frozen in space. It hovered in the sky barely changing its shape.

For the time being the city was unaffected by it, but a mass exodus of people had begun. The streets were jammed with vehicles, forcing most of us to walk. At the time of the dream I had no children, but in the dream I was responsible for several children and kept them with me as we were trying to escape the city.

Everyone was calm, but there was a sense of urgency to get out of the city and to head for the hills to a secret place of refuge. I was not sure if I was seeing it was a nuclear explosion, an asteroid hitting the moon or two asteroids colliding or something else. In the dream I did not question what I was seeing. I knew that we were fleeing the city because of it and there was the knowledge that something even worse was about to befall the world.

People were not panicking, but there was an overwhelming sense of despondency. Everyone was orderly and eerily silent. As people were leaving the city, another line of people were entering it. The strange part was that they were dressed in costumes like it was the Mardi Gras or Halloween. It was a big party to them. They were drunk and laughing and being obnoxious. They were taunting the people that were leaving. I remember looking at them as if they had lost their minds, thinking, “Can’t you see what is happening!?”

I knew that the partiers didn't understand what was coming and it was a certainty that they were all going to die. I was rather uncertain of my own future as well, but their was at least a little hope. And, that was the end of the dream.

Your dream is similar to the account of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, only Abraham and Lot and their imediate family were warned to escape these 2 party cities. Then suddenly destruction came upon them both, fire and brimstone from the sky! So it is also prophsied about Mystery Babylon in the future; in one day, her destruction shall come, wiping the city off the face of the earth even while her occupants party on! Jesus indicated such as it was in the days of Noah, people will be partying, then all shall be swept away, suddenly, the Flood swept them all away.

I notice the similarities here. Evidently, people will be watching and waiting for the signs in the Heaven the Bible talks about, that will signal the destruction is near. Others, will be foolish, and their blood will be on their own heads because they refused the warnings.

For this reason your dream can both be prophetic warning and be a spiritual teaching right out of the Bible...Christians look up for their redemption, the unsaved look to the pleasures of this world which will not save them.

I wonder if the explosion you saw is what the U.S is afraid of, China shooting down one of America's satalites...if so, that could start a war.

Yea, I had a similiar dream the other night,..( First If I should explain that I grew up in San Antonio Tx...& have moved to Nj 3 years ago)

Anyways, I was back in S.A with all my old party friends from high school. It seemed as though nothing had changed w/ my old friends ways & also as they perceived me to be the same old way. Except it was in the future where now I am married & have 2 kids. One of my old close friends had a flyer in her hand and was announcing that there were $1 drink special Sunday night & we should all go. I kept thinking why was I there & I needed to go. So without telling anyone I got up and headed out towards up a stair way without anyone noticing me. When I was half way up stairs, another "close friend" (Who I havent spoken to in 2 years because I became tired of her ways) I turned to her & said," I know we used to be friends,.." I paused & thought about it, as if I wanted to say more but stopped myself..." But I have forgiven you." Then I turned & continued to walk upstairs.

Then the dream skipped to another phase where I searched & found a yellow school bus for safety, for there was a huge flood where no one could feel safe. All I saw was almost like an ocean underneath the bus & it continued to rain. I remember being in the bus w/ my husband and children, but feeling fear as if god was upset for me for being around my 'old friends' & tempting myself. I wondered if we were safe because I didnt know if a Bus could really float well on the waters.

Then the dream skipped to a safe place at a shelter with a few people. I think I felt relieved that we found somewhere safe...but wondered why we where here...to do what if there was only a few people left in this world or city? I wasnt sure, but it felt the end for most people. THen, I felt the lord talk to me & say that my New path in life from this day would be to Spread the word & help these people in this shelter. I wondered if this was gods way of testing how strong my faith is because of what I Almost done earlier in my dream.
