Don't worry every mother dreams about these kind of things. My mom drempt that i was at the beach with her and i fell in the water and died. She drempt the same thing about my sister when she was learning how to swim. I think it's pretty normal.

Before trying to interpret a dream, it’s always best to have a lot of background information about the dreamer, including what was happening a day or two before the dream, but it’s possible in this case that the dream has picked up on the analogy of swimming and the danger of drowning to perhaps reveal a potential inner situation.

Although it’s natural to think of the image of your son as representing the outer little boy, it’s also possible that he could partly symbolize an aspect of yourself that is trying to learn and grow (learning to swim).

Something in your current makeup could apparently tend to cause a “paralysis” in this regard and is reluctant for some reason to help ensure that this growing part of you flourishes as it should.

You could try taking a few quiet moments, and although probably hard to do because of the strong emotions of the dream, just let some spontaneous memories, thoughts and feelings come to mind. Then by carefully sifting through everything that emerges by doing this, certain interconnected themes could emerge.

As a general example, if the idea presented above about the need for growth was correct, a person might suddenly remember how a cherished goal was given up “for practical reasons” when focusing on the idea of being unable to move to save the little boy.

However, this is only meant to be an example and everything depends on what actually comes to your own mind as far as being able to decipher the personal meaning of your dream.
