my nightmare

Last night I went to sleep around midnight. I had a dream. I dreamed I was in some big building and someone was trying to kill me.
There was lots of people in the building. They kept telling me to hide.
I was going from one room to another. All the rooms seemed to have doors. The kind with glass ,, with wire through the glass. they looked like the doors in city buildings or schools.
Every time I passed a door I saw my boyfriend. The light came in from behind him. He blocked some of the light. I kept yelling at him but got no response. He just seemed to stare at my face. It looked like it was late day time. The light shinning through the window in the door was a yellowish white. .I couldn't see the face of the person chasing me. He had a big knife. He got close enough to cut me several times, but I fought him off and ran. I got away, but I was bleeding. I could see myself bleeding. The dream woke me up just as I got away. When I went back to sleep I dreamed it again. I dreamed this several times last night. For some reason I feel like I was suppose to warn my boyfriend about something. Any comments or possible explanations on this dream would be appreciated.
