Hi, I hope someone can help me to understand these dreams.
When I was a child 5-6 yrs old I had a 2 recurring nightmares. One: I would meet a person who would have a mask on and I would take it off, then another mask would appear- this would happen over and over again and I would never see the person. A similar dream was that I would open a door and there was already a door behind it. The second dream: My family was in the house robbers came in and were killing them. I ran away to a neighbors, I could see in the windows that the robbers were killing them to. No matter where I went I couldn't escape the robbers. Any ideas? these dreams have haunted me for a lifetime. I am 50 Thank You

Hi, I'm afraid I've no idea what this dream might mean, but I've had similar ones and I think I might be able to help. I'm sure you know what lucid dreaming is, but did you know there's a CD you can buy that has a tone on it that helps you become lucid during your nightmares? I used to have an awful one about being chased by death - he'd drop mask after mask, just like the figure you describe, and I'd run but he'd always catch up. I used the CD and managed to become lucid during the nightmare. Rather than running I stood and watched him drop his masks and willed him to show me his face. Eventually he ran out of masks and I saw that he had no face at all. As I said, I'm no good at analysing these things, but I woke up with an immense sense of wellbeing. This all took place when I was suffering from quite intense anxiety disorder, basically living in fear of the myriad ways I imagined I could die! I'd recommend it, because I know recurring nightmares are horrible things. I hope that helps.
