I had this dream a few nights ago and I haven't slept since it scares beyond sleep. If anyone can help please let me know. I need help!
On a normal Saturday afternoon Jen Maria and Melissa were walking down a strip of road littered with all sorts of shops beyond any ones imagination. Jen initiated a stop in a British antique store; this is where it all went wrong. Inside were just the happiest of sales/owners. Two older British women and an older British gentleman, together they owned and ran the store. The front of the store was set up as if it were a living room of an expensive mansion. Behind this set up was the rest of there inventory as if it were a regular antiques store. We went in just in time for them to invite us for afternoon tea. Maria and Melissa joined the older women on by the front windows where there were four chairs and a side table with tea, cups, plates, and tiny treats. Jen on the other hand joined the gentleman on the other side and in two giant covered chairs and in between them was a similar set up for their afternoon tea. Jen and the gentleman could not hear what the others were talking about but they seemed to be enjoying themselves. The gentleman began the conversation after they sat down, “Do you know that I have the power to control bad and terrible things that go on in my life and around me?” Jen looked at him for a second in confusion but decided to see where this was going. He began again, “I was given a power when I was about your age and I have learned to control it over the years. I had almost a negative lookout on the world as you do. You can find a lot out about a person from idle chit chat.” Jen nodded her head agreeing about the outlook on life, knowing she was no longer the only one with such a unique perspective, and not knowing what else to do in this situation. He continued, “I always thought the world needed to end, that I was going to help end it. In fact in a way I have helped it. I have always felt that the world has reached its lowest of lows. Never in the history of the world have there been such wars with the weapons to kill billions. Uncouth acts are committed even on our streets as we speak. Abominations we call children, the entire Industrial Complex, everything! And soon it will all come to an end. I only wish that you finish the job while I am still walking around.” At this Jen had to step in, “Whoa, wait…. I am supposed to destroy the world? That has only been a fanciful dream I always had, and you’re saying you have the power to show me how? I think this conversation is over!” Jen was sitting up as if to leave when he grabbed her arm and began speaking again, “I have the power and I am going to give it to you. You will soon learn in time what you were destined to do, and don’t think you can hide from it. We all go through denial but it rears its ugly head at us in the end. How bad you want to suffer depends on how soon you make others suffer.” Jen now in total disbelief walks away from him and approaches Maria and Melissa. Thankfully they are finished and insist that we stay and watch a movie, Jen agrees and stays away from the old man the entire movie. Jen was so wrapped up in her thoughts that all she remembers about the movie was it was in black and white. Maria and Melissa go and say their good-byes, Jen just headed for the door. Once outside Melissa and Maria go on and on about how unmannerly it was to not bid the owners a found farewell. Jen just shook it off knowing that they did not deserve it, also not wanting to ruin the experience for her two friends, Jen says nothing about the awkward conversation between her and the old man. A mutual rumbling sound erupts and the three friends decide to grab a quick dinner before heading home. It was starting to get dark they might as well. On their left there was a burger joint, so they walked in. Jen had chicken fingers and fries, Melissa had a burger and milkshake, and Maria had a grilled cheese and tomato soup. As they sat down Jen finally takes the time to see who the candle light vigil in the front of the store was for. Everyone was balling in tears, even the guys. Jen caught a glimpse of the picture of the deceased. It was Mike! Jen knew Mike from back in high school, they had become really close, but now he was dead? Jen dropped her food and went up to everyone and asked how Mike had died, and why she hadn’t heard of his death. A young guy about Jen’s age begins, “It was a freak accident yesterday, I was unbraiding his hair and he died right there in my hands!” Jen turned around and mumbled to herself that it was terrible. She kept saying that it was terrible but she showed no emotion towards it. It was as if Mike’s death meant nothing to Jen. Perplexing as it was to Jen she just kept pushing it out of her mind. This puzzled her even more. Just as they finished Melissa’s family walks in, “We drove by and thought it was you guys, want a lift home?” her dad asked. We all head to the van and we see Melissa’s mom and sister too. We squeeze into the back and Melissa’s dad explains that he just wanted to check his mail first since it was on the way and all. Nobody minds. So we pull up to the driveway close to the mailbox, Melissa’s mom opens the window and takes a key to unlock the mailbox, after she retrieves what is inside she gets another key to unlock the little device and enters a code. The device whirred than buzzed and hissed open. The mail fell out. Just to be funny Jen jokingly jests, “I guess you guys get really important mail!” In serious tone Melissa’s dad glares at me and growls, “Yes, we do!” END I need to sleep and badly. Thanks JEN |

Man that dream has freaked me out, never mind you not getting any sleep! lol
Does the whole pessimistic outlook on life hold any truth to yourself like the man describes? I think that the fact the man is foreign may hold some comfort though as it sets yourself and him apart or perhaps it shows a link to your darker side a side that is more foreign to you? In my mind the dream is pulling you in two directions, almost like a test of temptation, its easy to cause damage and destruction especially if you are simply given the power at the drop of a hat, but your resistance to the man may show your strength, perhaps this is describing an inner battle with yourself, in waking life decisions, sometimes choosing the right path isn't always the easiest but it is a test of character and your dream perhaps emhapsises that although you cannot control everything around you, you still have a spirit to resist and strength to influence your world. Your dream is like a narrative and perhaps with this format in mind it is showing that you can determine the outcome of the story or whatever challenges your life may be presenting you with! i hope you've since had a good sleep! |
