Default Dream about an ex-girlfriend's family, trapped, gasping for air

yesterday i woke up gasping for air from this horrid dream i had. it was about my ex-gf's family, who i am on horrible terms with, i havnt spoken with my ex in over a year, or her family for that matter, we didn't break up, we were torn from each other, im not gonna get into all the details im just gonna say it was very hard on me and has caused me great stress this past year, i had not been thinking about this situation for the past couple of days actually, and with time it has slowly gotten better emotionally for me.
enough back story, the dreams goes as follows:
I was sitting in my ex's family room of their house, she had opened the door for me, that was the last i ever saw of her throughout the dream; she was in a good mood.
In the family room I was " chilln' " with her younger sisters, just watching tv and joking around, I remember in the dream feeling anxious on the inside but I held a calm demeanor on the outside. Then one of her younger sisters said, "our parents know about you two, they even call you her husband". I remember laughing about this (in my head, in the dream). Then I remember my anxiety level climbing, and I wanted to get out of the house before any other family showed uped. So I was looking to put my shoes on, but for some reason my socks were off too. I remember looking for my socks and not being able to find them, so I thought to myself, let me just take a pair of theirs, (for some reason, there was laundry all over the place, as if the girls were folding clothes), but I remember thinking, no I dont want their accursed socks! Furthermore, I remember thinking I dont want to leave my socks here either, I did not want to leave them in that house, with those ****ing weirdos. I literally remember thinking that in the dream, after waking up and reflecting on this dream I thought to myself, why would I feel this way about an inanimate object? Anyway I found my socks in the insides of my shoes, so I put them and the shoes on and was ready to get out of there, instead i was cut off by the three eldest sisters of the family(9 children all together) They greeted me with warm smiles, they were also dressed uped very nicely. I remember looking at one of the sisters that had caused some damage to me and thinking to myself, "dont act like you dont know who I am bitch", but before I could say anything, she smiled at me and said hello Matthew, and I smiled back and said, hello Angela. At this point I got up to leave but, I awoke from the dream at that moment. Whats weird was, I awoke from the dream GASPING FOR AIR as if someone was previously trying to drown me.

An important side note about the dream, my ex's sister who had caused all the problems was not in the dream at all! nor where here parents, who are equally as sickening.
Another side bit of the dream is, the shoes I was wearing in the dream weren't mine, but my best friends. I only realized that after I reflected on the dream later on in the day.

First of all I can tell you that it was the "gasping for air" that caused your dream!
Your subconscious used the tense situation with your girfriends family to wake you up! This gasping for air was probably caused by a bad sleeping position. The worst sleepig position is when you lie on your back and cross your arm over your chest. This can cause breathing difficulties in a short time. However just sleepin on your back or belly can also cause bad dreams!
Cheers Wolfjk
