Let me preface this by saying most of those who know me - know that I do not scare easily. Also, very rarely am i able to recall vivid parts of a dream, and even then, its only parts of a dream - never the whole thing. NEVER do i wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night, unless i'm sick. that being said - OH, yeah, I've never been to Robin & Bobby's either..lol...so don't know why they were a crucial part of this.
At the beginning of the dream , my husband and I were at Robin & Bobby's home (in Blanchard) & we were watching a movie with Laina. For some reason or another, I decided to leave because I had an overwhelming urge to cross a bridge in the woods, which was evidently not too far from their home. Once I crossed the bridge, I looked around and realized it was going to start raining and that I should head back. When I began to cross back over the bridge, i stumbled or tripped, i'm not sure but i landed face up toward the sky. Before I could get up, a giant lightning strike hit me, straight through my stomach and continued through me for several moments, but only through the lower portion of my stomach - it never crossed through other parts of me while I was laying down. I was able to watch it pass from the sky, through my stomach, through the bridge and into the water. When it was finished passing through me, I stood up scared and turned to run back toward the house. Another lightning strike hit me on the back side of my left shoulder and exited through the front my left thigh - i was able to watch this as it happened via third-person dream state. The actual lightning running through me did not hurt but it didn't feel good either - it was very very warm. It was more as if I was in shock that it was actually happening. I only became scared after it was done. I ran as fast as i could back to the home where my husband was. I was told that he had decided that we were going to sleep in a trailer in front of their home - so i went to that trailer and went straight to bed beside him. Then I showed him the white marks the lightning had made on my shoulder, thigh and stomach. Don't know why i felt the need to show him then - he told me he'd take me to the doctor in the morning and i was adamant that it had to be FIRST THING in the morning. As i got ready for bed and began to lay down, I heard a noise at the door & my husband went to answer it - but there was no one there. He came back to bed and no sooner did we lay down, was there another knock on the door - again, i made him go answer it and again he returned saying no one was there. The third time the knock came, i got angry and decided to answer it myself. I started to rush towards the door and then out of nowhere I had the overwhelming feeling that something evil was trying to get in the house. I ran to the door and began screaming "you are not welcome here - leave now. you can not come in. this home is clean and you can not come in." i repeated "you can not come in" several times - quite loudly. It was storming very hard and the wind and rain were blowing the door open & being the crazy lady that i am - i was screaming into the night at nothing. This is where i woke up - terrified. I opened my eyes fully and realized in my head i was still saying "you can not come in" . I was shaking, my heart was racing, i was sweating. Then, I began saying the Lord's prayer over and over and finally scooted over to my hubby to go back to sleep safely. He got up to go potty & I looked at the clock and realized i had actually been asleep for only 45 minutes. I had gone to bed at 10:30 and it was only 11:15. I went back to sleep woke up again at 12:30, 1:45, 3:15, 4:20, and 5:05. talk about an insane dream! anyone care to take a guess at what i should take from this? |

Just an ordinary nightmare! Reading some of your posts, I expect you think your dreams have some symbolic meanings. However dreams are what is happening in your sleep and the symbols - if any -are based on your own personal experiences. Quote:
The dream also indicates that you were feeling ill and tired, and needed to be woken very frequently. The dream is based on some past experience of eating bad food and having similar problems - if not with robin and bobby with some other dinner date or occasion. Quote:

i would almost buy that, except i sleep on my side. when i awoke, there was no pain or discomfort in my stomach, i was lying on my side (a la fetal position). i've never eaten with Robin or Bobby - they are more of a social acquaintance at various events we attend.
however, after much self-analysis, i believe that the lightning strike the belly was referring the miscarriage i had - it was this time last year when i found out i was pregnant. I believe that the bridge could possibly represent the making of a decision to leave where i am currently employed to pursue another career, and that by crossing back over the bridge, i may be second guessing myself. i'm not really sure what the second strike is referring to as i haven't had any shoulder problems, but maybe that's my problem to bear. I know that by running back to my husband i consider him my "safe place". i feel that the 3 knocks on the door could possibly symbolize three different decisions or choices, 2 of which will have to be made by him and the last to be made by me alone. i'm not really sure about the evil feeling but it may be concurrent with the storm which probably suggests some inner turmoil or emotional conflict that is on the horizon - possibly due to the decisions... thanks for taking the time to read the lengthy post wolf -but after seeing all of your posts - it makes me wonder why you even bother to hang around a "dream interpretation forum" - perhaps you should pursue a medical advice forum? |

I'm glad you felt the need to justify your scientific reasonings behind your comments, however - for those of us who are here to analyze our dreams, it serves no purpose.
Those of us who are wrongfully searching for meaning in our dreams perhaps believe in a deeper consciousness instead. i appreciate you taking time out of your day to answer and clarify your beliefs, though. Mark Twain said "never trust reality when your imagination is out of focus" what is imagination if it isn't purely daydreaming or believing things that might not otherwise exist. I happen to believe that our dreams are a way of our deeper consciousness trying to tell us something. I believe that our dreams are a vehicle for our souls to point us in a direction or to bring to light problems we need to address and may be too afraid to address in our waking life. to each his own and at this point, i will agree to disagree with you. |

Dear writer: I'm picking up on a few unusual things about your dream..My personal belief is thats is somewhat prophetic on your near event horizon and not connected either historically or to a physical symptom. I want to do a digression, for openers. Each of us have a physical entity in 3 demensional space and located above the entity is a head which contains the brain. Right behind us or nearby we have a light being approximately 2 to 2 1/2 times in height of our physical entities. Knowing you have this light being protecting you should offer you great assurrance there is not a force in either earth or heaven that stands a chance against the great power of your light being. In looking at the symbols you mentioned: the bridge, lightening, and knock at the door I would view them in the following manner. The bridge itself, I believe is a marker, just like a street sign. It indicates, or is a marker indicating a mild change of physical locale. Heres what I find ironic, you had no fear of the lightening strikes at all. Very much like a child you seem somewhat fascinated by the event, furthermore you did not one but two OBE.s (out of body experiences) to get further details on the events. Sort of like this event is much too interesting just to lie here, so Ill move my consciousness from my physical entity to my light being so I see it all. In other words it was not the lightening that moved your consciousness over, but the enthusiasm of your free will. I also believe the lightening is a marker and not to be taken literally. In some cases when people have obes in their dreams I would consider that prophetic, and suggest an obe is on their near event horizon. However in your case the obes were a voluntary act driven by curiosity and enthusiasm. Now heres the discrepancy. You went through 2 lightening strikes pretty much unphased, but when the mysterious knocks on the door occurred you were somewhat petrified. Now I myself do not believe in evil entities. And if we encounter an unfamilar entity, the best approach to take is the attitude "how can we be friends". The most seductive act in the world is just being considerate of others. Heres what I think you reaaly were in fear of, and it wasn't the entity. After all the entity knocked 3 times and yet was not there. Two possibilities on this one, I would give you a 50-50 chance on either. Its very normal when a person we are close to departs the earth plane to visit their closest friends or relatives. The uncanny but less than logical mindset of those who are departing is to visit their closest friends or relatives to let them know they have passed the earth plane. And indeed they do just that. They knock on the doors of their closest friends or relatives to give them the news of their departure. Unfortunately they are usually in a different demension. So in their minds they are knocking on the door but we, of course wouldn"t hear it, because we are on a different demensional plane. My view in this matter is we each have a few good friends and relatives wherein those relationships are so positive that no demensional barrier is capable of breaking those connections. Now for the second possibility. The greatest fear in having a door knocked on three times and no being observable is that other poeple and possibly ourselves might think somebodies crazy here. One of the greatest fears everybody has, yet rarely talked about is the loss of our mental facilities. In summary these are the two possibilities I see. One is a close friend or relative may depart the earth plane, the other being some unforseen event (completely non violent) but unexpected may interfere with your sanity, most likely only briefely. You should have no fear of either possibility. Sometimes its fun to be a little crazy. Even a mild fever for a few hours can disorient a person. It will be interesting to see what transpires in your future. Best regards

Hi PandorasKyn,
This dream is an important realization dream. At least some of the meaning of it should have already have come clear during the morning after the dream (going to the doctor first thing in the morning). The doctor implies that healing is necessary, and some experiences have left their mark; you have had some flashes of spiritual insight, some may have even been uncomfortable, you may have attributed the miscarriage to an act of God (the white marks left by lightning). The lightning through your shoulder may have reference to responsibility (burden: shoulder) and walking away (the thigh). The bridge that you wanted to cross is a spiritual bridge between states of consciousness. You obviously are at present exploring the mystery of the mind and spirit with a mixture of eagerness and fear, you feel chosen in some way, but are reluctant to abandon the present comfort zone (the stumble). The rain represents the trouble that you anticipate may come as a result of "crossing this bridge". The lightning indicates that the choice was been made from above, for your good, but that having gone so far and having discovered so much, turning back is in some ways dangerous and frightening; however slowly it pays to advance. The knocks on the door are the call of the Self ( I knock on the door ..) The fact that there is no-one at the door is because it is YOUR SELF that must be there: this is what you are terrified of. Not many will understand you, or be able to help you. Your husband seems to know of your situation and maybe trying to help you in this, as he opens the door twice. The Self is such, as all of it is a great mystery, hence the darkness (unfathomable). Your shouting that the house is clean etc. is because you need to defend certain guilt that you are afraid to face, but secretly suspect. Here you will need great courage and personal honesty, then total surrender for the process to be complete and experience freedom and Love. The light is on the other side of the darkness, but with guilt and resistance, it all looks dark out there. Be brave and surrender your personal judgment: that is the impediment. But I trust you'll get there. P.S. this dream is far from insane. |
