Default My dreams are disturbing.

Why i say my dreams are disturbing is because for the past week ive had dreams where i go out and kill a whole bunch of people then i go back to my house and kill myself. Like last night i had a dream where i went out at night with an axe and brutally murdered random people i didnt know. and then i went to my house and killed myself with morphine. Anyone know why my dreams are so messed up?

Hi,
Are trying to kick the habit? Are you angry with yourself for starting it? Are suffering from withdrawal?
Cheers Wolfjk

well death usually means change. Dieing of old and beginning a new. However you were causing the death. So perhaps there is something that you are doing that is causing change.. and perhaps a big change since this is in multiples, or lots of changes.

Perhaps you feel as if you are hurting others and harming yourself by feeling or doing something? It's an idea at least. Maybe subconciously.

Yikes, I'm really sorry to hear you've been having these dreams...I imagine they're really disturbing! I'm sure that you have no intention of going out and killing people, so don't try to view the dream from that angle. First of all, I find it interesting that you mention morphine. What does morphine mean to you? Personally, when I think of morphine, I think of stopping pain and suffering. Of numbing any sort of sensation. So essentially, if we break it down, we see that in your dream you go out, cause a lot of harm, and then numb the pain. Is this something you're actually doing in your day to day life? Hurting yourself or others, whether you mean to or not, and either ignoring it or covering it up with something like alcohol, binge eating, etc? Maybe you're feeling a lot of pain right now over something and instead of feeling it you ignore the pain and try to numb it.

Try to discover what pain or suffering there is in your life, and see if you're dealing directly with it to remove the problem or if you're just numbing the pain and hoping it goes away. As someone above me said, death usually represents change. It's the greatest change that will ever happen to us, right? Is there some sort of change going on in your life right now that is hurting you, but for whatever reason you aren't allowing yourself to be hurt over it, or you're ignoring the problem?

These are the best guesses I can make. I truly feel such a brutal dream is your unconscious mind's way of trying to get your attention and show you what's wrong in your life, so it's important for you to figure out what the message is. I'm sure that when you do the nightmares will stop.

Best of luck!
