It’s so easy for people to explain things away and try to feel like they control their life and the world. I guess for them it's easier that way. That's why the world is in the state that it's in - pollution, crime, GMOs, mutations, violence, wars, etc. - because man thinks he's in control of his destiny. Stress causing recurring nightmares? Perhaps, but with an open mind we may see that we are not alone out there, and not so much in charge as we thought… in many ways.
“Pure love casts out fear”... a quote from the same book that speaks of demons. It's convenient to pick and choose what you want from a book, and ignore the rest, isn't it? Well, I hope you don’t run into one of those entities you don’t believe in. But in case you do, I would advise you to leave the “love and light” stuff behind, because it won’t work. The only reason I mentioned the church was to show another viewpoint besides shamanism, because personally, I don’t put much faith into Christianity. Also, smudging won’t drive away anything that has a connection established, so that approach isn’t always the best. I see that certain closed-minded individuals in this forum do a good job at belittling others' opinions when they don’t coincide with their own. How unfortunate. I had assumed that what was important here was helping people with their dreams - not politics. Good luck to the unfortunate ones here who truly need help and are told, “Don’t worry about it, there’s nothing to be afraid of, it’s just in your head.”

Well, Dreaming Fox, yes, of course, "Perfect Love casts out fear," is indeed from the same book as your demons, but you know, Jesus also says that out of his mouth comes a double-edged sword. It may well be that what we choose to dwell on in his words is what defines us. It's worth thinking about. I find that for most things he says, he also says the opposite in other passages. He says, for example, that he come to bring peace, and he says he comes to bring war. It may be that peace is for the true believers, and the war is for those who call him Lord, Lord, but will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
And no, I do not believe I control my world. I believe the God/dess does. But I also believe the old saying that "God helps those who help themselves." I see too many Christians in my life, not here on the boards, but in my life, who sit around like belligerent children demanding that God heal them or whatever, without them doing a darned thing for themselves, like choosing to eat right and exercise and try to understand how to keep their bodies healthy. If you mention that to them, it's oh, no, God's going to do it. Well, in what I've seen that rarely happens, and most of them die of their cancer or whatever that they refused to work on for themselves. They think they are somehow entitled, even when they are not. I've been around for 62 years now, and haven't run into those evil entities you want to run around casting out, so I doubt I'm going to. But then, I don't go around seeking them. I seek God. I don't think anyone but you is likely to term me close-minded either. I gather you don't read the whole of the boards. I'm not telling people don't worry it's all in their heads. I'm giving them good advice regarding White Light Shielding and Smudging that they can do for themselves. God/dess takes care of the rest because in doing these things, they are sincerely seeking God/dess, not just the glory of casting out demons, or the profits they earn from it, or the sense of power it gives them. The only being for whom I've had to do more than smudging has been my ex-husband, for whom I performed a cord-cutting visualization, which had to be repeated a few times, no biggie. That and buying a new bed to stop the psychometry did the job pretty well. I do recall some people at church thought he had a demon, but they were obsessed with demons, and performing exoricisms, and tore the church apart doing it. If he does have one, it didn't bother me; he did. It was all him! He lives on a hill called Fox Hill too. Funny. Love and Light are about the balance between the feminine and masculine aspects of our minds, not about New Age fluff. You could of course have asked instead of assuming. But that's not much fun, is it?
