I'm not sure exactly how to classify this dream. I think it was a nightmare because my wife woke me up because I was making noises trying to scream.
In the beginning I had a succession of dreams I can't really remember and I'm not sure if they are related, but I will briefly go into the one right before the nightmare. It was about my Dad making me and my siblings do household chores (something he probably would never do in real life) and he decided he would make me go with an astronaut crew on an engine repair mission. I argued with him because I didn't know anything about astronomy or engineering and its seemed crazy, but my dream then switched to an actual astronaut crew performing a successful, but very dangerous mission (I wasn't really one of them though, I was kind of floating above them). On the way home from the space shuttle, I was walking through an area that wasn't really my house, but for some reason I lived there. There was a park of some kind in front of my house, but it had been abandoned and the grass grew long. In the park there was a strange creature. It was kind of like a cow, but it had these alien-like features. It was diseased and very skinny, with its rib-cage showing. From the top of it's chest, a long and hairy tube came out that was curled-up into circles at one end, kind of reminding me of something like a mosquito's mouth or an umbilical cord. For some reason, I was afraid of the cow and had some kind of familiarity with it. I don't know exactly why, but I thought people had said cows like this had some kind of leprosy or mad cow that was highly contagious. The cow was eating the long grass and then turned to look at me after I became afraid of it. On the top of it's head, there was like a portal. It reminded me of a third-eye for some reason, but it functioned like a diseased snout that would open and close. The cow started running towards me, but for some reason I was fixated on the top of its head. I started trying to run from it, but I could not turn around. I started to run backwards, but I wasn't going very fast and I knew it would catch up to me. It did and it stopped in front of me. Somehow, my finger ended up touching the socket on the top of it's head and it was sticky and I worried about what the cow was trying to do to me. I like it was trying to give me something, but I didn't know if it had good or bad intentions. It seemed angry, so I worried it was trying to give me its disease, but when I thought of a third eye, I thought of good thoughts. For some reason I knew the cow was an Indian cow, so I felt like it was some kind of spiritual being, but I didn't know how to feel about it. It kept trying to get me to touch it. I ran backwards again and it aggressively followed me. That was when I tried to scream, but I felt like it had taken away my ability to speak. My screams were like mumbled noises and I dreamed that I was in bed (not my real bed, but the bed of my dream situation) and trying to scream because I was having thoughts of the cow, but no one could hear me and no one would wake up. It was then that my wife woke me up because she said I was making strange noises, the same kind of noises that I was making in my dream trying to scream so that someone could help me. I have no idea what that means, but for some reason I got a sense that the cow was trying to tell me something. I'm not really sure what. I don't tend to remember my dreams very often (they are usually mundane, I think) and I hardly ever have nightmares, but when I do remember my dreams they are usually kind of strange. For some reason, the past two days I have had strange dreams. (Yesterday I had a pretty long one about a nuclear bomb stuck in my burrito that I had to find a way to get rid of). Any ideas? |
