weird cave dream

So in my dream i was in this long dark cave the ceilings of the cave were very low, i could've probably touched them. But any way I was in this long dark cave and there were light bulbs hanging from the ceiling blinking on and off. And I remember the grim reaper came bursting out of the darkness chasing me with a scissors. And I remember running out of the cave and it was sunny outside of the cave and when I came out, I saw a big tree with a tree house. And then I ran back in the cave for some reason after that. i do not get what this means. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Well, dark is symbolic for bad or evil. Light is symbolic for good or truth.
The Cave is dark, & while you are going in Deeper & Deeper into the dark you see "blinking" lights. Blinking lights represents a FALSE Truth that you are following.

It seems like the blinking lights are the correct PATH to follow because it does show some "light" however than your faced with the Grim Reaper which means that he has shown himself to you....he is no longer hidden.

When you realize the "Truth" you run out of the deep Cave into the TRUE LIGHT.

The Tree represents the Tree of LIFE (Eternal Life) & the Tree house represents the HOME of eternal life.

But, by going back into the cave you have decided to REJECT the home of Eternal life (LIGHT) & want the darkness....that is why you go back into the Cave.

The dream is warning you to make different Choices in your life & the only way to do this is to stay away from the dark(of False light) & choose the bright Light of Eternal life.

A cave, like a cellar, can signify the unconcious mind. By entering it may mean you need to explore so hidden matter, feeling/emotion. Or possibly life is restricting you in some way. But the symbolism of a dark tunnel with bright light beyond - esp when connected with the Grim Reaper - has the 'hallmarks' of a Near Death Experience. Have you had one, BTW? During my 2002 car accident I'm sure I did... .

The tree and its house are a possible 'sanctuary' from this nightmare. As you ''ran back'' into the tunnel, do I take it there was no way up to this house? In my In Grave Trouble dream I was trapped in a night-time cemetery, and faced with three shadowy horsemen with weapons. [They were repelled by a mysterious woman armed with no more than a bag of coins"!] In the 'sequel' I sought 'sanctuary' [via a ladder] in a Clock [apparently in the Full Moon]. Only to discover that the ladder then vanished, and there was no other visible way out! So I can empathise with your predicament... .

The Cave can also be an unknown to you (ie new business venture, buying a new house, new job..) and you going into it with lights can mean that you are being led or feel that you know what you're doing. The Grim Reaper can be unforseen trouble with the new "venture" and you're running out into the light can be an unwillingness to deal with it. Mix this is in with the other possibilities and see what fits your situation.
