Default Violent dreams

I have been sleeping poorly for weeks now.
I dream of extreme violence done to people. This is never done by me, but usually people that are close to the victims. I am just a bystander and I don't think that the people in my dreams can actually see me. In some cases the violence results in murder.
The dreams vary drastically in the age of the victim. Sometimes it is just a baby at other times it is an older person.

These dreams make me feel very drained and I have been getting strong headaches.

I have been having a stressful time lately, but I don't think that this is at exceptional levels.

I am not a smoker and I do not drink regularly, if it could be classed as drinking at all.

I am walking roughly 2 miles a day and eat a lot of fruit.

I also sleep for long enough to get enough rest, but the horrors of the night drain me and and I keep waking up because of the brutality of the dreams. Sometimes my whole day is ruined because I can't forget what I dreamed

Hi,
Violent dreams must have some serious causes.

It is most likely that your dreams are caused by your headaches.

And it is likely that your headaches are caused by the stress situation in your life. If you work or study and concentrate too much, that could bring on your headache in sleep. However some headaches or migrain can be caused by some food, especially dairy products and chocholet.
I hope this will help you sort out your problems. The first thing is to find out what causes your headaches.
Cheers Wolfjk

Hi Wolfjk,

I don't usually have headaches when I go to bed. They are only there when I wake up in the morning.
I am concentrating quite hard in my dreams though I think.

I am already staying clear of chocolate and also dairy products.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.

The problem is that the headache comes on while you're asleep. Your dreams are the responses to your headaches. At first the dreams try to keep you asleep with the diversion of the dream storyline, but when the headache gets bad they wake you.
It is possible that you are thinking about your stress situation in sleep and that is causing the headaches.
Cheers Wolfjk

Default Can you help me understand?

Last night I had a dream that I was in a gravel parking lot with a few cars and a woods around me. I looked down and there was a Black Mamba about twenty feet from me. I started to back up, with the knowledge of how deadly they are it scared the livening day lights out of me. But, before I could get even five more yards between us it took off straight at me. I tried to out run it but no matter how fast I ran it kept gaining on me. While I was running I found a peace of sharp scrap metal laying on the ground. I picked it up and kept on running till I jumped on top of one of the cars in the parking lot. The Black Mamba started to clime up the side of the car with it's mouth open ready to strike the first chance that it could. But, the second it popped it's head up I hit it about a foot below it's head and chopped it's head off. I stood there for a couple of seconds waiting to hear if it was still alive or not. Enough time past that I thought it must be dead and jumped off the car. But, when I turned around it was still alive it had lost well more than 5/6ths of it's body but it started at me again. So, I hit it again right below the head and it stopped moving although it was still alive. It's mouth would move gnarling at me with pure hatred. It was about that time I felt a sharp pain coming from my left heal I looked down and realized it had already bit me. The skin from around the bite had already turned black and it was as if the skin it self was melting and that's when I woke up.
After waking up I shook of the dream and went back to sleep and to make a long dream short. I dreamed that I had slit my wrist by going up my arm not a crossed it and died. Somehow they brought me back but when I came back I was hollow in side. It was like they just brought back the body and left the soul in the other world. I had no emotion for anything.
I know there's a lot here but if you can give any kind of insight it would be appreciated.
These dreams have been on my mind a lot to day and I think that they mean something. I hope not though lol.
P.S. I just joined this site Today so if I'm not posting in the right spot or something pleas let me know. Thanks

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
If you want to post your dream click on "new thread" on any of the forums: Dream interpretations, Nightmares, or prophetic.
I think your dream was caused by some pain in your leg. You probably had cramp come on while you slept.
The second dream was probably caused because you went to sleep on your back or stomack and your hands were trapped under you.
We all get these bad nights every so often.
You should not worry about any meanings. Dreams are dreamt to look after you while you sleep.
Cheers Wolfjk

Default Thanks

Thank you for your help. It could have been anything you mentioned. It may sound weird but every since I was a child I would have night tares. It forced me to stay awake for days on end. I don't have them very much anymore. But, when I would have a very vivid dream I could never tell if I was awake or still dreaming and when you carry a very desperate state of mind from your sleep to after your awake it tends to screw with you a little bit. So, any kind of help in understanding these things is much appreciated. Thank you.
