Okay I'm having this since I was a child and I'm starting to get tired of it. I'm so used to it that I practiced a technique to wake up when the problem occurs (I know it sounds kind of weird).
Okay, ever since I was a child, like each 2 or 3 months, I'm always doing this weird nightmare. But not a nightmare like any other nightmare. It starts with me looking at the roof. I can't do anything, not even move. It's like if my body was frozen. All I see is the roof. Some seconds later, I hear some creepy woman demon-ish voice that always scares me. I don't know what it's trying to say but it really is weird. I have two choices. Either I do the technique I always do in those cases to wake up, either I just wait for the nightmare to begin. If I wait, different things can happen. Either I see a shadowy figure coming towards me slowly but I can't do anything, or I do a nightmare related to something I did earlier in the day. My technique to prevent the nightmare to happen? Not kind of easy to do. I must try the move the hardest I can, with all my force until I feel that I can move. If I do so and that I wake up (Doesn't always work, sadly), I always feel weird and my heart beats extremly fast. Something else that was weird is the fact that my dog was barking at my wall...like if there was something that was frightening him... Thank you for reading and helping me, LostDreamer. |

Hello Lost Dreamer,
Sorry to hear about your nightmares. I know exactly what you are going through. I should imagine when you wake yourself up, it takes a huge amount of effort and you feel extremely exhausted afterwards? Waking yourself up is really tiring isn't it? I have put this in a few previous posts, so sorry if I am repeating myself again, but you can get rid of these types of dreams yourself. The first thing is to have no fear. Thrashing around trying to wake up uses a huge amount of energy. Tell whatever it is 'No. Get out. I didn't invite you and I'm not afraid of you. Go!' Say this in your head – don't try to shout it aloud as nothing comes out. You body is sleeping and won't move. Surround yourself in a protective light. Imagine a bright, strong light around you to protect you. Keep saying 'get out' all the time – calmly and persistently. You can even put up your hands and imagine a bright light coming out of your hands. The most important thing is to stay calm and have no fear. Please let me know if you manage to do this and if it workd for you. I hope my post will be of some help. All the best idgy

Thanks both of you for helping me! The next time I'll have this nightmare, I'll try what you told me idgy. And Wolfjk, about my dog, it wasn't looking at me first..
It was like looking at the wall and started barking(My bed's in the north-west corner of my room and he was looking behind me) before looking at me and bark again. You're right about him being frightened about my reaction of the nightmare, but why would he bark at the wall first? Oh and about looking at the roof, I never thought of that being the reason of my nightmare. But what about the demon woman? My mom says it's called "Berka" or something like that (I forgot the name). She says it's a demon that comes towards you and that strangles your neck while you feel the pain and can't move. She also says that it's because I watch TV at night or play a video game in the evening. I don't think that's the reason sincerely.. Last edited by LostDreamer : 01-05-2009 at 02:56 PM. |

When you sleep on your back it becomes difficult to breath, and after about 10 minutes you start gasping for air or start snorring. That is when the bad dreams start. You can see that if you watch someone else sleep. Quote:

You are welcome Lostdreamer. I hope that you are able to get rid of these dreams. Everyone has their own ideas about this sort of dream, whether it is in your imagination or otherwise. Only you know what you believe it to be and how real it was for you.
If it is only a dream, it is still really scary and I know how you must want to get rid of it. I was attacked in my sleep for a long time……this I felt physically. And no amount of explanation or rationalising would get rid of it. Waking myself was just tiring me out and did not get rid of my fear about going back to sleep, as it would happen over and over. This would happen whichever way I was sleeping – side, back, front. Shouting for help and praying did not work either. Nothing helped me. Fighting didn’t work. It just created more fear and fed the dream/energy/being. The only thing that stopped this for me was to stand my ground and have no fear. Whether this was in my imagination or not, really doesn’t matter – it got rid of the dream. Occasionally the dream comes back to me now, but my reaction is ingrained and seems to work for me. I hope that you are able to get something from my post and I truly know how tiring and real these dreams can be. Sweet dreams idgy

I have a similar dream that comes around every few months or so. Except i'm seeing myself sitting in bed with a demon staring at me through the crack in my bedroom door. Creepy but I'm not always frightened... i've sort have accepted him as a friend. He just stares and says nothing.

Thanks for all the comments, I appreciate it. I tried doing what I was told, to not he be scared and to think about good things and all but it didn't seem to work. And I did the nightmare again but it wasn't like the other times, it was harder to wake up. I just did one this morning and it was different. I didn't hear any demon, but I was staring at my TV, which is located on the right side of my room. I was sleeping on the side.
Anyway, I hope someday this dream will just fade away. Thanks for helping me! |

You say this has happened since you were a child.
"It starts with me looking at the roof. I can't do anything, not even move. It's like if my body was frozen. All I see is the roof." So you are on your back and feel total paralysis. "Some seconds later, I hear some creepy woman demon-ish voice that always scares me. I don't know what it's trying to say but it really is weird." Does it speak in a language you know, or is it something you don't understand? "I have two choices. Either I do the technique I always do in those cases to wake up, either I just wait for the nightmare to begin." This is a technique that I have read about in the book "How to Defend Yourself Against Alien Abduction" by Ann Druffel; in that case abductions often begin with the abductee being paralysed and one way of stopping the episode from beginning is to break the paralysis. This takes tremendous will power but even if you just get your finger to move a little then you have won and broken the paralysis. I'll just go and get the book so I can find a quote.. Now you say you hear the voice of a demon. I'm not saying you experience alien abduction, but the techniques of breaking the paralysis could be similar. Here is an interesting quote: "A crucial point in using Mental Struggle is that numerous persons who use it successfully report back to researchers that the intruding creatures almost invariably react with surprise when human beings show resistance. This fact along indicates that these harassing creatures, whatever or whoever they might be, seem to feed on fear. If a witness confronts them self-confidently with Mental Struggle (or any of the other defence techniques described in this book) the creatures seem powerless against them." |

A demon or an evil spirit seems to be troubling you and is around you. Pray before going to bed asking Jesus Christ to protect you from all harm and danger and from all evil spirits. Also please make Christian intercessors pray for you.
