Dear Wolfjk: Thank you for your suggestion. Sometimes my spouse tries to move me instead of wake me up but it makes my dream worse. I am still being tortured. I prefer to be awakened.
Dear Hawk: I didn't mean to be offensive with my thoughtless remark about fundamentalist Christians. It was insensitive of me. Please accept my apology. It was coming from an immature place. I was raised as a fundamentalist Christian but was betrayed: sexually assaulted by a Christian camp counselor at 13 years old. I don't have anything to do with the Christian religion as the West knows it. But I believe in Jesus and am happy and secure in my faith.
I am usually good at analysing other people's dreams. But I don't know what I'm supposed to learn here, or what death, torture and suffocation symbolize for me. Especially as a recurring dream theme. Or what I can do to stop it.
Many thanks for your thoughts.
Orestes

Hi Orestes,

You have given me very vital information. I am a Christian, but would not consider me a certain type of Christian, I am just a Christian loving Jesus and trying to follow my Sheppard's footsteps.

I can now understand your remark and it is very justified, I am very sorry that satan managed to get to you through someone else and is ruining your dreams. To get sexually assaulted at the age of 13 will have a huge affect on your spiritual life and the devil gets access to you and makes a stronghold inside of you. You need to come closer to Jesus, get baptized and start to believe in Him as your Savior. Are you a born again Christian? Where there a time when you asked Jesus to be your Father and that you give all of you to Him. For me it was a very emotional time when I was 15 sitting alone in my room, when you are reborn, you are a new creature and the Holy Spirit lives in you, protects you , show how to accept and give love, He is your teacher and what normally happens if there are any unclean spirit they get casted away and you get freed from the hurt and fear you experienced from that incident.

Its never to late and you know Jesus loves you so and do not want you to go through darkness and fear. He wants to put His arms around you, adore, love, nether, protect you and give you many Gifts!
You seem like a very good hearted lady and I know things will get better!

All the best!

Dear Orestes,
I have written a few posts on this website about dying. I have been through many such deaths myself. All of them rather nasty. I know for sure there has never been a nice quiet death.

What I think you need to do when faced with such a dream is to just go through the death without fear. Takes a lot of courage. You won't feel any pain in doing this……just sensations. I have read that this may be ego death. Just keep working through each one and they will stop. Don't try to run away or stop it, then will just keep coming back until you face it. Don't cry or scream, just concentrate on your breathing. Always come back to your breathing.

You said you have succeeded in lucid dreaming. This is really good, as it is the only way you can work though the death. Try to remind yourself it is all an illusion, it is not happening now. Stay calm.

Just so you know, I have had my head cut off, (sword and axe), been gassed, shot, stabbed, faced many tsunamis, and blown up in an atom bomb. I have gone through these and although there were quite scary at first, after a while I got better at facing them. I have never felt pain from going through these. If anyone feels pain in their dream it is because their physical body is feeling it and not the illusionary dream.

I hope this will be of some help to you as I now how terrifying these dreams can be.

Take care
idgy
