murdering a little girl

I'm new here, and found this site after having a very disturbing nightmare last night.

In the dream, I was a younger girl, about 18 or 19, and became pregnant. I was talking about having an abortion, but for some reason I didn't go through with it. I had the baby and it was a girl. Then as the baby got older, I think she was 3 or 4, I became very distressed with having a child and talking about how I wish I had aborted this baby before. So I took the child out into the woods and tied her up and smothered her to death. I told everyone it was an accident and that I didn't know how she suffocated but in the dream it was like I was happy I had done it, while everyone else was stunned. Then the dream progressed into another dream, and in this dream everything was fine.
I woke up incredibly disturbed and cried while telling my mother and boyfriend about it. I'm really freaked out by it, it was just so violent and harsh.
Does anyone know what this could mean, or symbolize? I'd appreciate any insight, and surely this will bother me until I figure something out.

Hello janet86.

Basically what im getting from the dream is if you had to do it over again, you would do things differently. I get this from the relieved feeling of responsability within the dream. Its not the symbols that matter within this type of dream, it just matters the symbols get the point across.
