Hello,
I'm new to the forum, but I have been having this horrible dream for years it alters slightly but I was raped when I was 13 and was abused everyday by this bully in school from primary till grade 9 and than off and on, till i was 20. I'm 21 and never encounterd him anymore but I was wondering if someone could interperate my dream, its always an instant memory of what happend when i was 13, but he did it outside tied to a tree, but in my dream he has me stripped naked in a room, blood all over me beat up, and him trying to suffocate me with this white fabric with chemicals on it, i was told i breathe short and fast while i'm dreaming, and that i'm begging for him to stop and i say "i'll do anything just please stop" I was wondering if someone could help me understand why I keep having these dreams, and why they happen almost every night. I have come a long way, but I can't get these dreams to leave. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you Archangelwish. Last edited by archangelwish : 08-15-2008 at 04:19 PM. |

I am sorry about your nightmare and i am glad it is finally over after so long, i dont know alot about dreams or understanding them, however the way i see your nightmare is you feel that you have no control and by reliving your worse fear is the way your mind is dealing with things, have you got counsilling (SP?) if not it could be that a couple of sessions with someone might clear your mind and help you understand how to move it...
I hope i helped but i am sure that someone will be along soon who can help more, good luck with the future and i hope things improve with your sleep, sending angels xxxxxx |

I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience. The memory of it will always be with you but the horror of it should fade with time. Quote:
However it is also possible that the thoughts of your experience impact on your sleep. In this case you should seek counselling. Talking to someone and releasing tension is always helpful. Cheers Wolfjk

hello jenn2503 and Wolfjk
Thank you so much for your reply's i know that i didn't give much detailed information because I didn't have the time, but I'm going to ask the person that I sleep with what position i'm in, i think he said that i start turning and begging more and more, the only way he noticed i wake up a bit easier is touching my face and calling my name gently but louder, but the last time i didn't wake for 10 min of him trying to wake me, when i did i was terrified and he was agervated because he had to wake. I'm going to ask and i thank you for your great consern ppl, i really appreciate the help. thank you you guys take care. |

Thanks for your pst. Now I know you sleep with your partner, you can tell him what to do if youre having a nightmare! Hes no need to wake you. Ask him to place his hand on your arm or shoulder and apply gentle pressure as if trying to turn you over. After a minute or so your dream will change and you will move sleeping position and turn over without waking up. One word of warning; tell tell him to be careful, as if you're having a violent dream youre likely to land out at him! Ihope all goes well with you! Cheers Wolfjk

Hello Wolfjk,
I'm sorry I had to laugh at what you said about the dream as a first reaction, I'm going to tell him to do so too, I'm very great-full and happy that your helping me with this because I don't want to be having that problem all the time. I'll let you know how it goes, and yet again thank you for all your help. Is there a way to PM (personal message) you? Your helping me a lot and I greatly appreciate it and super greatfull for your help. Should I expect this to work right away, or will this happen a couple of times and than just eventuially fade away? Yet again thank you for all your help. archangelwish |

Sleeping and dreaming is part of an individual personality or character. Some sleepers are more restless than others, some light sleepers and some noisy ones. If you know how you sleep, in time you learn to recognise when you're dreaming and get comfortable. Your partner can always change your dream by touching you or moving your arms. I think you will worre less about your dreaming now, as once you talk about a problem it eases off. I Wish you well. Cheers Wolfjk
