sprouting fingers?

i had a sort of mild nightmare.

it started out that i had a pimple on the bottom of my foot, but when i tried to pop it, a pinky finger sprouted out of it. i remember feeling distressed and that the finger was red and bloody, there were also some bits of gore (like strings?) on it.

i remember someone coming to see (i think it was my brother, but i'm not sure) but i can't remember what they said. only my response was something like "but what the hell was a finger doing inside my foot?!"

i just remember waking up quietly and being thankfull that it was only a dream. *phew!*

any ideas on what this might mean?

It is difficult to second guess what the subconscious mind intended the sleeper to do. However there are some likely possiblities. Your feet might have been itching in your sleep and the dream made you scratch it. It is also possible that you slept in the same position for a long time and either your foot or your hands needed moving.

The subconscious creates a dream that makes you move without waking up and without you noticing that you moved in sleep. It tries to keep you comfortable while you sleep.

Wolf may have the explaination for you...one that has everything to do with biological/physical matters rather then symbolic matters of your waking life. If I were to interpret the symbols however...I would say that if this dream is not about what was happening with you physically while you slept...it may denote that you are currently not making right decisions or dealing with your life in an appropriate and/or more productive manner. Feet generally represent a person's path or walk in life. Fingers or any hand parts coming out of a foot may represent actions taken by a person. The fact that the finger was gross and red and bloody seems to suggest that you may have made some decisions that are hindering your path in life and your walk to progress. I hope this helps a bit.
