Nightmare, strangled?

I had a horrible nightmare and when I woke up, or at least I thought I'd woken up - I was a face that was of a girl and she covered my whole view and she was blueish, as if she had hypothermia - Though I knew for some reason she was strangled. Then I woke up. Was I already awake the first time? Was that just part of my dream, or real? That happened to anyone before?
