Default Zombie Survival - 28 Days Later meets I am Legend

Hello. I am new here and felt compelled to finally reach out as I was unsettled last night. I have had recurring dreams/ nightmares for maybe the past year, at least, about living/surviving in a zombie-infested world. Not the slow, walking dead like in the original George A Romero films, but like in the remake of Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later- the fast, viscous, relentless kind. I am usually holed up at home (or some mutable mansion/fortress version of home) or in a business or commercial building we survivors have fortified. Now it must be said, I love these kind of films and enjoy watching them on numerous occasions and I am not outwardly scared by these movies. But when I have these dreams, man!, I wake up not sure if I am still in those situations- running for my life from a speeding mob, saving strangers or family and friends (depending on occasion), waiting out the horde for help to arrive, being low on food and water. I think what gets me in the broader sense is that the world we live in has gone awry, it's up to myself/us to survive the chaos where the normality and routine of life has been shocked. What compelled me to finally seek this site out and look for help is that last night, I dreamed of a world more akin to I Am Legend (spoiler alert), a mix of the film version and book where there is the fast, brutal, semi-coherent zombies that come out at night, but also a tenement of people who live in there apartments either in a fortress built to repel the night stalkers or (it seemed to switch) where the more human, intelligent zombies or vampires lived as a society/neigborhood and I was the intruder or passer though who could pass as them for a time and then run from rooftop to rooftop like in the art of parcour (how the video game Assassin's Creed is). Now, I can understand if I were watching too many zombie movies, but I don't. I guess they stick with me. But most nights, as I need to have the TV on to fall asleep, I have some comedy like The Office, or Scrubs playing, and I never dream I'm in those worlds. (Although, my main problem is once I awake, if I have dreamed, I immediately start to lose memory of it upon waking. Anyway, I hope someone can offer some advice. Once again, these are the fast running kind of Zombies. Thanks!

you should try to make the dreams lucid some how, then have fun with it. usually in my zombie dreams they are slow but there are cars. if you can manage to have a lucid dream and build barricades and make turrets appear maybe you won't be as scared, or if you can make things appear get a warthog with master chief in the back.

There is some things that traumatize your mind and affects you for along time. Fear of demonic forces is common, high stress can induce these types of dreams but other factors can contribute to what your dreaming. I can't really do those types of movies anymore they have a negative effect on me even when I'm awake, weather it's games or music too. You could be surpressing your emotions too, and when your asleep they come out becuase your mind is telling you "this is how feel and I have to let it out" and you have been still enouph to listen to your thoughts without any outside interruptions, americans in general are bombarded with comercials, advertizements, and everything inbetween. GOD be with you, peace.
