Exclamation Devil calling

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a little insight into something. I am not writing this on behalf of myself but for a family member that is currently in the hospital. A couple of weeks ago she had a dream of herself standing in a terminal of some sort and the devil was standing there with a sign. The sign had blood on it and her name was on the sign. He was calling out her name and telling her to join him. On the other side was a cross and she said to the devil no I am with him and pointed to the cross. The devil then told her she was mistaken and that she would be departing with him.

Now more significantly to this question is that she is currently recieving medical care in a hospital in the psych ward. She is now seeing dreams vivedly while awake such as the devil coming back to get certain members of the family. She is actually warning people that they will be next. I know some people are going to think this is the common ramblings of someone that is crazy, but she was dealing with these images before she started having mental breakdown. Does anyone know what the significance of such a dream could be so that we may come to some sort of understanding as to what she is trying to let us know.

It may not actually be the devil at all. Is she sure that's who it is? what did he look like? What did he sound like? What did the environment look like? Does she remember any smells? Drastic temperature change? If so, hot or cold?

According to many religious scholars, the devil, unlike God, is not ubiquitous. To see the devil, or any demon, is extremely rare given that there are over 6 billion people in the world. His influence, however, is everywhere as he has millions and millions of messengers in the flesh - and most of them don't even know it!

Ask her these questions, and let me know what she says. I might be able to help.

Hi,
You can't ask a person who is going through a mental breakdown what this or that dream may mean! Dreams are there to help the dreamer, no matter how bad they are. They don't concern you or your family. The dreamer's own subconscious creates the dream to ease the pain of a disturbed mind. You and your family believing in devils and that sort of rubbish won't help her get better.

This is just the rumbling of a mentally disturbed person. You should be helping her by staying away while she gets better. I hope it will be soon.
Cheers Wolfjk

Thank you for all of your replies. As far as her mental condition..she was not mental during these dreams. Her being in the psych department is due to a heart condition and medication that was not supposed to be mixed because of her condition. She was not mental. We did not say whether we do or do not believe in devils. We are attempting to find out what the significance of this dream has to do with what she is telling us in her current condition. This dream is sticking with her during this time and has become a reality to her now. Please during this time of hardship for my family do not send in negative replies. We just want positive insight. Being rude and ugly about the question is unnecessary. Please be a bit more respectful of the situation. Again thank you for your help and I welcome any help that I can get.

Hi,
Sorry if I offended you. From my position, I can't see the whole story! Now you given more information about her state of health I can tell you that some medicines can cause strange dreams and her dreams are probably caused by her medication!
You can safely dismiss any kind of devil or spirits! Her dreams are so vivid and frightening because of the medicines given to her. (some drugs disturb the balance of the brain - LSD and psychedelic drugs.)
Cheers Wolfjk

If one person says something is not true that does not mean it does not exist. For example, if a tree falls in a forest and your in a city, does that mean the tree did not fall and was not heard by someone else? No one should propose whether to believe in something or not that is the choice of the believer- whether you believe a god does or does not exist. Even my previous statement is a fallacy. If this is something that is obviously bothering your family I would strongly advise seeing experts, I'm sorry but this website does not have any experts, meaning someone who actually does this sort of analyzing and interpretation for a living, and relies on clientele and who has also gone through formalized training. I myself am not a dream expert but I have enough knowledge as someone who studies religion and had college training to tell you that you should do more research and see two different kinds of experts:

1) a person who deals with and who has experience with paranormal phenomena such as Exorcists (Please Do Not Think I am Suggesting She is Possessed, They Should Know More About the Devil than the average person- this is obvious). Do research with google for any Exorcists in your area or Catholic Churches may know of one. I am not sure whether Protestant Churches such as Baptists, etc. carry this line of work
2) see a licensed therapist/psychologist who works in dream interpretation. We know that the main theorists or psychologist experts on dream interpretations were Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, the latter being more spiritual in a sense. However, we know that some licensed therapists who have had scientific training may likely not believe in an actual devil.

Now obviously these two kinds of experts are out there, there are even Shamans, but these people are mystics and would be branded crazy to the ordinary man/woman. I hope you do find a solution to what is bothering your mind. But most importantly I hope your family member does find the peace of mind that she most needs. Family support, love, and thoughts of prayer can help.

V.

Question

I have no education background in dreams, the only thing I use as experience is I dream nearly every night of all manner of things. I am a nurse and as part of my training I spent 3 weeks working on a mental health ward where there were normal people who at some point in there life were struggling with some aspect. I did alot of reading round schziphreania which I am not saying that your relative is suffering with this. This principle stands how can you tell someone that is seeing things and hearing things that it does not exist. I am not a religious person but I do believe in the god and the devil. I`m sorry if I am waffling a bit. But this situation is very real and any scientific approach to sorting the problem may not work.
I have also dreamed of the devil. It was in September 1999 and I was 23. I was in my old school and it was night time and the corridor was inluminated by the moon. At the end of the corridor was a man in a suit. He appeared normal until he smiled, it was only then when his smiled went from one ear to another and I noticed the rows of sharp teeth. I was frozen to the spot when he swung both his arms forward and all manner of things came at me. The only faith I have ever had has been in items given to me out of love. At this time it was a ring and I touched the ring which stopped the majority of these things from getting at me. One got through and bit me, this one was an old hag. Then I woke up.
I started shortly after with 3 months of nightmares every night and severe problems with family members.
Please listen to this person because even if you don`t believe in good and evil and god and the devil, this is a very real problem. Sometimes by turning round and aknowleging this problem and asking them what they want you to do. My thoughts are with you and your family. Crystals helped me even though I did not belive in them. They stopped the horrible dreams.
