Weird Nightmare with a Huge, Green Snake

Ok...well the beginning of the dream was perfectly fine. A friend I haven't spoke to in ages won a gold medal in the Olympics (yes I know...weird) and I was all choked up. Then it started to get progressively bad. First my dress wouldn't fit, then the coffee lady at Barnes and Noble yelled at me, and then I lost my special religious studies bible. Then, I'm in my room literally wrestling a huge, green snake. I had grabbed it by the neck, and at first it wasn't fighting. Then the real trouble began. It was hissing at me and I was scared it was going to kill me. I was trying to grip it, but I could sense that I was growing tired. Every time I would loosen just a bit, it would snap at me and dart this weird saliva at me (this is very weird because in real life I love snakes, I even take care of my friend's sometimes). I knew I had to get it out of the house, away from my brother and my other animals. Somehow I knew that this was all my fault, and a serious wave of guilt was washing over me. So I ran downstairs, opened the door and flung it. The snake went completely insane. It was jumping and hissing and darting at me. I was trying to fend it away from the open door. Finally it was sitting right by the door. This is where I woke up screaming and had to catch my breath.

What does this mean? Can anyone help me? Thanks.
