recurring nightmare

Hi everyone! I was hoping someone out there can help me with my re-curring nightmare. When I was 8 years old I lived ine Tallahassee, FL. My friend and i had gone walking in a cemetery because we liked looking @ the children's graves. One day we went past the children's graves to the adult graves,and noticed something strange. A woman was lying on the ground in a wierd position, with her head tilted back in our direction with brown stuff running down her mouth (which i can only assume was blood). My friend and I ran back to her house, and told her mom, who called the police. Turns out it was a dead woman who had shot herself. For weeks after that I had nightmares about finding the woman. A few years later my family and I eventually moved to Virginig, but the deams continued. As the years went by the dream began to change. Sometimes the woman was evil and would grab me and I would wake up in cold sweats and where she had touched me was cold. Other times she was nice and did her best comfort me. And still other times she appears in my dreams but in the back ground and has nothing to do with them other than just being there.
Just recently i moved into an apartment @ college, and i really freaked out my room mate one night. i was having one of those dreams again. This one she was evil and was again grabbing me. She grabbed my arm, and again i woke up in a cold sweat. My arm was frozen where she had grabbed me, even though i had slept in a hoodie. When i moved my sleeve up to rub my hand over the spot to warm it i noticed i had a distinct hand print on my arm, I took pictures with my cell phone and told my parents about it. My mom told me to just tell the woman to leave me alone, but so far it hasn't worked. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what this means and/or how to stop it?

Dang dude it sounds like something off of a scary movie or something. Maybe the stuff really does happen.

You never know; this woman might be telling you to find her corpse and give her justice.

I'm not good on interpreting dreams so don't pay any mind to this.

It was very traumatic for you and your friend to find this dead woman in the cemetery. You should have had councelling straightaway! It might still come in useful to have councelling.
It seems as if your subconscious uses the event in your dreams because it is a very good waking agent both in morning dreams and in nightmares.
Since you are at college you should understand that dreams are an important part of life! They control your life while you sleep and wake you when you ready to wake up. So whether a dream is good or bad it is always useful and always important!
About your college dream: It is a nerve wracking time when you leave home to go to college. Yuo are likely to have worries about this and that and it impacts on your dreams.

You can be absolutely sure that you made the mark on your arm wlie you slept and dreamt. It often happens in involved psychological dreams where the sleeper is stressed and worried about something.
If you looked at the mark on your arm, and tried to place your other hand over the marks I am sure it would have fitted perfectly.
You should think of your experience of finding the dead woman as a useful dream device that your subconscious can always count on to work. However I think some councelling should come in useful as well.

sounds terrifying...i'm sorry i don't have an analysis, but i thought i'd just tell you this... i had a dream, where i saw this old guy in my house, i'm pretty sure it was a spirit/ghost, it was really scary, he grabbed my feet while i was sleeping and i woke up with ice cold feet, then he just sat watching me, scary! i don't know what the explanation could be for the ice cold feelings, i know it scared the crap out of me and it was not my imagination.

this was a few years back now, but last year my neighbour told me there is a ghost of an old man thats been seen before in our houses, they are joined, so i was really freaked out.

maybe you should seek some spiritual advise like exorcism or maybe not as drastic but something like that. ask in a church i'm sure someone can help you.

The best way to exorcise spirits is by using logic!

If you used logic sprinkled with abit of experience, you would know that the dream was actually caused by your feet getting cold while you sleept! Since "spirit scare the crap out of me" your subconscious used the idea that you're scared of them to wake you up and warm your feet! Ghosts and spirits are created by ignorance, however very few people admit that they don't know something and hang onto spirit's tale!
