Default Phobias and nightmares

I have a question for you all...
If one has a phobia of something, say an animal or object or event etc., and that object of that phobia appears in a dream (which then feels like a nightmare), does the object / animal / event then represent the same as it would normally?
I have a very strong fear of snakes, and so every time a snake appears in a dream, I consider it a nightmare, and I wake up frightened etc. BUT, should I be ignoring the fact that I'm frightened of them, and look at what they are supposed to represent in a dream, or do they mean something different now BECAUSE I'm afraid of them?
Any thoughts would be wonderful!
Sweet dreams ALL!

Hi,
Your subconscious will use your hopes and fears and other emotions to create the dream. Sometimes you have to wake up in the middle of the night for some reason and your subconscious uses the things you fear to wake you up. We all need a dream to wake us in the morning. Dreams are natures alarm clocks! However we rarely remember the waking dream. On some occasions when we are over tired or over stressed we need a stronger waking dream. Your subconscious uses the snakes in your dream because they work every time! Your fear of snakes is a useful dream device for your subconscious!
Cheers Wolfjk

Hi,
A snake means a hidden enemy apparently friend like a jealous person in real life.

Here are all the different scenarios for a snake in dream language:

Snake is interpreted as a hidden enemy, if dreamt a snake at home means one of the family members will do something annoying. If it was in a desert means an stranger enemy. If dreamt he was fighting with a snake means he will quarrel with a rival or an enemy. If the snake bit him means that person will overcome him .If he killed the snake means he will overcome the person. If dreamt he was eating snake flesh means he will receive some dignity and rank or if he is suitable perhaps a lordship. If one dreamt he cut a snake in two parts means he will have the enemy's money. If one dreamt a dead snake means he will be safe from a calamity. If dreamt he took a white or gray snake in hand means he will receive some greatness. If dreamt the snake ran away from him means his enemy is weak.If dreamt about many black snakes means he has many rivals or enemies. If dreamt about a green snake means his enemy is pious and honest. If it was yellow means his enemy is an ill person or a doctor. If the snake was red means his enemy is sociable. If dreamt there were snakes around him means his family and relatives are his enemies. If dreamt there was coming out a snake from his mouth or nose or ear or hissex organ or his anus means his child is his enemy. If he took a snake but it didn't bit and he wasn't hurt means he will have some dignity and will overcome the enemy and will achieve his wish.Snake may also mean : 1- hidden enemy 2- life 3- health 4- kingdom 5- lordship 6- a woman 7- a wish 8- a son 9- a flood.

approximate interpretation time table: Dreams at noon or exactly at midnight( In the summer time 13 at noon and 1 midnight else at 12)in the same day if past a few minutes, a few days later. Dreams at 10-11 in the morning in 15-30 days later. Also dreams at 3-4 in the evening in 1-2 months .Dreams in the sunset mostly are not truthful and are messed, they have no interpretations, Dreams at 4-5 in the morning in a few days to 2 months some dreams in the holy books( Josef dream of kneeling the sun and the moon and 11 stars)was interpreted after 20 years and other dreams of the Pharaoh's prisoners interpreted in the same day and after 7 years. Dream of Pharaoh about the 7 thin cows and 7 fat cows interpreted from the next year to 14 years. Also dreams in 6th of the month will interpret after 1-2 days, in 9th at the same day, in 10th after 20 days, in 13th after 9 days in 14th after 26 days and in 15th after 3 days, in 16th after 2 days and in 28th ,29th ,30th in the same day, but these are solar (Persian months and you should refer to a calendar or convert them) . Of course there are different kinds of dreams , like messy dreams which have no interpretations or deja vu dreams, or psychological dreams or dreams which are caused by bad food or drinks.

I have been wondering the same thing for a while. Only my fear is being eaten alive by either Zombies or cannabols. Those are my most horrifying dreams.

Default Of spiders

I hate spiders. I dream of them often at the beginning or spring and winter because that's typically when they end up in the house. I have A LOT of anxiety about them possibly being in my bedroom. My dreams consist of me looking up and seeing one (or more) above my bed dangling down. One I had I woke up and actually jumped out of bed thinking there were spiders on my pillow. One time I went to bed earlier than my husband and I had a dream they were hanging all over my bedroom. I screamed and my hubby came running. I was on the verge of waking up when he came in and I almost told him to watch out because he was going to run into one because I could still see them. Luckily, I realized I was dreaming and apologized.

I know I personally dream of them because they scare me in real life. If it's on my mind a lot during the day, it will more often then not manifest itself in my dream. I don't feel that it has any alternative meaning, at least for myself.

It's also interesting to note that my fear of spiders in my dreams is 100 times more powerful than when I'm awake. What would normally only make me a bit freaked out in real life would paralyse me with fear in my dream.

definately- dream symbol meanings are different for everyone. Depending how you associate the objects you see. For example- to you snakes would represent your fear due to your phobia, but to someone else they could mean temptation becausen theyll associate it with the biblical creation story.
dunno if that makes sense
