Default dreamt like i was attacked while i was sleeping...it felt very very real

Hi,

its kind of wierd and scary thinking of these dreams i have been having over a couple of years.

Couple of years back i used to feel as if a huge body ( heavy sack/bag of wheat or rice) was put upon me...suffocating me ...and i would feel like i cant get my voice to call my family ...i would try very hard to scream "mom, mom"...but i could only let out a very low voice...i would be sweating...gasping for breath and then i would wake up. My Mom would ask me to change the place and position where i sleep to get rid of this....and it seemed to work. Its painfull and scary to get such dreams...after some time it was gone.

After many years (4-6), last night i got a dream....could not believe im calling it a dream coz it felt sooo real that im **** scared right now. I felt like more than one person was attacking me...not like they were beating me with anything...it was as though im lying in bed...2-3 people ( male ...cant see their faces...dont know if they were human) are holding my hands back ...holding my feet...so that i cant kick them away and they r trying to take my soul out..and somehow i dint want to give it away...so i was fighting back..and saying my prayer and calling out to my rooomate as loud as i can...this time i was really calling my roomate at hight pitch ( though she never heard anything) ...i was fighting and they would'nt let go of me...and in a fraction of a second ..i opened my eyes and it was all gone.
i swear i felt them attacking me...i reallly really suffered the feeling.

im not a weirdo or something...but these things should mean something...i belive so. i hope u'll help in deciphering what this means.

Hi,
Your other knew what the dreams meant for you. Imagine yourself in your recent nightmare: You are probably sleeping on your back with your hands on your chest. This sleeping position makes breathing difficult. The dream simply trying to get you to move from the sleeping position or wake you up. No devils! No spirits - it is your subconscious looking after you and telling you to wake up! Are you carrying extra weight by any chance?
Cheers Wolfjk

Diya....as Wolf suggested...try sleeping in another position...this may help. My ex fiance use to have night terrors. He too thought things were attacking him. He...like you...claimed to feel a heaviness on him...and claimed people were smacking him around. Sleep paralysis happens to all of us...I believe during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) cycles...but you may want to search that out to verify. This happens so we do not act out our dreams and get injured while we are sleeping. I have heard that sometimes...when a person is not having complete sleep cycles...they can often be consciously awake in part. The dreams cross over to the waking mind while the body is still in the state of sleep paralysis. This can be very scary. It makes me wonder if you have sleep apnea or acid reflux which can disturb ones sleep. In any case...get checked out and make sure you are allowing yourself plenty of sleep (for a teenager...that can be up to 10 hours a night). If you have another dream like this...try to become aware that you are dreaming so you will know that these people cannot hurt you. May you find the peace in sleep you desire.

i read through the link and realized that my dream was little different..i could not see these people who were attacking me...its more of a black image in the form of human..kinda gost like...maybe its my imagination..... they were trying to seperate my soul from body...its weird but i felt so..

i have started to pray before i go to bed and relax/meditate..and...havent got the dream again...hope i dnt get it again..

i wonder if this event means a new begining, a newer level of understanding the life in the spiritual side...im going thru a lot right now...confused.

Default Diya

Hello Diya,
I’ve experienced exactly what you are talking about. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it on this website before. I ‘woke’ to find there was a being sucking my energy, something similar to that film ‘Hocus pocus’ where the witches drink the life force out of the children. I fought it off and pulled myself out of the sleep.

Funny enough I had a strange experience the other night. I became lucid and found there was a shadowy being looking over me. It was hostile. It was a dark grey shadow. I then did something that I have tried only once before. I held out my hands, palms facing towards the being to repel it. I could then see a light coming out of the palms of my hands. It wasn’t a blinding light, more like the light you would get from a small torch. The being recoiled. It did not like light. It left.

I think you may be right about a new beginning for yourself. Maybe because you are more aware, these things will certainly happen to you. I did read once, that you only face what you are capable to deal with. You just have to know that you can face it without any fear. Stand your ground and know you have the power yourself to get rid of any unwanted energies. Each time you stand your ground you will get stronger and more confident. You are a being of light. Know it, and keep up with your meditation. Meditation will help you to ground yourself and stop your mind turning to fear when you become lucid. Good luck, & don’t think of yourself as being confused, I think you are doing really well.

hi Diya,

the first thing i thought about when i read this dream (before i read your later response), was that this seems to be a spiritual dream of some sort.

perhaps you need to begin to make some decisions concerning your spirituality or religion...perhaps you feel you are being called to another place in your life, or you'll risk losing your soul...as in it will be stolen by demons/men/the world.
