| Nightmares! Horrors in the night? Do you wake up screaming, or wish you hadn't fell asleep in the first place? Post it here, or if you are good at helping folks interpret these kind of dreams, then do so here. Maybe you will get a good night's sleep. ; |

This is my dream:
My husband is driving and I'm in the passenger seat. We're in the car we currently own. We're driving down a straight road, probably in the left lane of a 3-lane road, though it feels like a 2-lane highway on the interstate. We're going over an overpass with a low guardrail (not a bridge). In the center lane is an older white large sedan (like a Crown Victoria) and in the right lane a white truck, like a delivery truck. (Not as big as a semi, but that sort of look, trailer and cab). I think we're in the process of passing them when a man falls out onto the road. He's an older, tall, thin, caucasian man. I am horrified and not sure whether he's fallen out of the old car or the truck. There's a cut scene--looks like a computer illustration that you might see on the news and it shows an overhead view of the white car with the man falling out of the passenger side. So we're trying to see and figure out whether to stop when two others fall out or are pushed out from the driver of the white sedan. The first man and the second person (which may be a woman--not clear) are both going to fall off into the water below this road. The third person I get a pretty clear view of the face and it's my 5-year-old son who is small and gets trapped by his neck in the guardrail, hanging off. I immediately wake up. Of course, I'm really scared by this image. But I'm so exhausted that I can't stay awake and so I doze off again and the dream seems to continue in multiple directions, anywhere from me calling 911 from my current cell phone, to stopping to help, to being scared of the driver of the white sedan and not knowing if it's safe to stop. Obviously once I woke up my emotions started influencing the direction of the dream. So I've stayed up because I can't sleep without knowing what this means. Please help! I am usually pretty good at figuring out what triggers strange dreams like this, but I'm disturbed by seeing my child being hurt. The fact that the car in the dream is the actual one we have right now made the dream seem very real. |

Quote:
Relax! This dream was about what was happening to you in the sleep. For some reason you had to be woken from sleep. Your dream uses these grafic images of people falling out of vehicles to wake you up. When that does not work the dream uses the image of your son - that wakes you up. My guess is that you were lying in an uncomfortable sleeping position and the dream was trying to move you out of it. The problem in your sleep could not have been very serious as you went back to sleep after. Probably neck ache or pins and needles caused your dream. I think you can safely dismiss the idea that the dream means anything, or foretells anything. Cheers Wolfjk

Thanks...that's certainly a possibility I hadn't considered. Hopefully that's all it was.
Though I'm still bothered by the imagery... |
