| Nightmares! Horrors in the night? Do you wake up screaming, or wish you hadn't fell asleep in the first place? Post it here, or if you are good at helping folks interpret these kind of dreams, then do so here. Maybe you will get a good night's sleep. ; |

Howdy all, this is my first time here. I found this website after having experienced a reoccuring dream that freaked me right out so I got up at 6:15 local time here (EST) to write it down and do some research. A little background into that could help potentially but may or may not. It is Christmas and I have a lot of family around. When I've had this dream before it never really happened at any specific time or during any specific conditions that I can remember except for one.
I always seem to remember some type of astronomical event, usually pertaining to the moon. Lunar eclipses, star alignments, etc. I am an amateur astronomer and am interested in the night sky and what it holds. And that is typically how the dream starts, by me seeing something in real life that I find interesting and then in the dream I go to look at it. For todays dream it was the full moon on Christmas and a star that was partially aligned with the moon so it was highly visible. Don't know which one, didn't catch it on the news when I heard it. But here is what happens in the dream. I'm in a mobile home in the front room and can't see what is going on because of fog so i go to the back room (a bedroom) to try and get a better look and grab my telescope. As I look out the window I see the moon, full and bright but it has a small circular globe type object in the center. It is transparent and only the outer rim can be seen. Like looking at a soap bubble. It's mostly transparent, but the outer edges show up because of curvature and surface area. This is the only part that changes, is what I'm looking at out the window. I can't remember what I looked at in the past, but the next part is what reoccurs. As I'm looking the fog lifts and there is an alien craft sitting outside of my window. I'm totally shocked and amazed. I'm filled with exhilaration and can't decide if I should grab my telescope for a better view or run outside or what. I start to run to my telescope and suddenly I'm gripped by something that won't let me move. It's like something is literally in my brain and physically holding me at the same time. I feel totally helpless as I'm frozen in place and suddenly my vision begins to 'blink' for lack of a better term. It's normal, then everything turns grey for a moment and this overwhelming feeling of very real pain hits me. I'm still frozen and it stops then starts again. During this process when the pain hits I have a very acute awareness of my entire body. This process repeats a few times until I pass out in the dream then wake up in real life. I typically don't have much issue controlling my dreams. This one feels like it's somehow linked to something though. Maybe a specific event or just a concept I don't know. But that is my dream, and if anyone has anything to share I'd appreciate it. Thanks. |

Hi Paul

The reason for the dream is probably your sleeping position! If you don't go to sleep on your back, you often turn onto it because your dreams are often about stargazing so naturally your dream turns you towards the stars! However after sleeping on your back for some time breathing becomes difficult and the dream has to wake you. It is probable that you get real pain in your sleep, but your subconscious can also use previous experience of pain in the dream. suddenly my vision begins to 'blink' for lack of a better term. In sleep paralysis it is very often the eye that is the only part you can try to move. It is frightening but a harmless way to wake up. Cheers Wolfjk

I enjoyed reading this dream; the only problem was, it was not long enough! The dream does appear to be connected to your earlier experience of the night sky and that unidentified star. The dream suggests that there exists a certain degree of intellectual fluidity in your profession where all matters are scrutinized and thoroughly tested. You notice an unusual feature that others appeared not to have recognised. You feel that it is something unique and you want to broadcast it but are constrained in your desire from the fear of being ridiculed by your professional colleagues or of being publicly crucified and hence the hesitancy.

I just wondered where the pain is that you feel? Is it like someone is pushing their thumb really hard into your back, making your body arch? I just wondered as I went through a stage of dreaming of aliens outside my window as well, and this coincided with a really sharp pain in my back.

Hey all, glad you found my dream interesting. I couldn't get back into the account I created the first time so this is its predecessor.
<idgy> No, no arching or movement of any kind. It's like an energy pulses over the entirety of my body. Every inch of my body, internal and external was in excruciating pain. The only pain that I ever felt that was similar or close was after hernia surgery and my pain meds weren't working. It was like my entire body was being disassembled and reassembled on a molecular level. Every single pain receptor in my body was firing at once. It didn't burn, ache, or continue to hurt, it was like this blast every time this "flash" came over me and froze me in place. It was "pure" pain, kind of like when you cut yourself, it just hurts but no throbbing, aching, etc. <Jennings> Sorry my dream was short. I can make something up for you if you like but that is really all that happened, or that I can remember. <Wolfjk> I was lying on my side when this all happened. I remember this distinctly for two reasons. One was that I was sleeping on the floor as the guest room was taken and the only comfortable position was on my side. When I woke up I wasn't aching or anything so I don't think that where and how I was sleeping was terribly uncomfortable, but could've been. Second, when I woke up I was in a semi fetal position. I guess I should take a moment and try to explain the pain and gripping sensation a little better. Think of a microwave and how the energy goes through the object being cooked. This 'energy' pulsed through my body and not only froze my body in place, but also caused the pain and the greyed out vision. It was like the pulse held my body in place, but also got into my brain and gave me some kind of (for lack of a better term) psychic command to stop. Thinking back on the dream, everything blurs the way a dream usually does for me, but for some reason it's the moon that continues to stick out, like it's the really important aspect in all of this. |

aliens mean something strange, things which are not normal or acceptable in your life. You may experience something which you will not feel comfortable with.
