This is an older one I posted, found it interesting I still remember it vividly.
Looking back on it, do you think demons exist? What kind of dreams are they when your awake/ can't breathe/move???/ ....scary...... ~~~Posted: Sat Jan 31, 2004 2:56 pm Something happened to me this morning. I don’t know what. But I think I do. I died. It was about 5:32 a.m. and I decided I wanted to lay down. Something is wrong with me. I can feel it. And. I didn’t want to fall asleep. So I kept staying awake. It was hard to breathe. I had to think about breathing or else I feared I would forget and choke. Inside. I felt so odd. I knew something was wrong. I know something is wrong. Then all of a sudden I couldn’t move. And I was breathing with my mouth open. In which I never do, I always breathe through my nose. I was paralyzed. My arms. My fists wouldn’t open. I tried so hard. Finally, a finger moved just a bit. But then I slipped back into this parelell. And. It was painful this time. I couldn’t see. My eyes were opened and all of a sudden I had the thoughts of hell. And a demon flashed before my eyes. Hovering over me. It was evil. And I tried to scream. The only word that came out was god. And my uncle was walking about upstairs. And I tried to yell. Help me. Help me. Shawnnn. And I still couldn’t move. I’m sure my eyes were rolling into the back of my head. I turned so cold. I was struggling to breathe. I felt something so wrong with me. And one more time with everything I had in me as I thought don’t let go, I tried to move. And finally my arms were free. And I got up. And ran down the hall. To my uncles room. Banged on the door. Panicked. He told me I was white as a ghost. With bloodshot eyes. And I started crying. Which is so odd because I never cry. And I told him. I think I just died. Blahablahblahblahblah. And I had this tingly feeling that was through out my entire body. And I was shaking. And I didn’t know what was going on. I had no sense of time. I was so lost. And I was shaking. So badly. He told me to come in his room for a minute so he could watch me to make sure if something happened he would be right there… not find me dead in my room. He said. And asked if i wanted t go to the hospital. And then he talked. But I couldn’t hear a word he was saying. The whole world was different. After about 3 minutes. I ran out. Ran upstairs. Turned the lights on. Went to my little brothers room. It feels safe in there. And. Turned on Finding Nemo. Figuring it would make for eased thoughts. And. It was real. All this really happened. And for the first time in so long. I was scared. I don’t know what’s happening. |

This was from an old dream diary.
Is there a strong connection to themes within dreams and mental illness? i was very "sick" at the time, and all my dreams seem to be involved with dying and death..... |

Hi,
Going up means achieving a wish, turning on the light means learning something about guidance of the life and morals.Death means a problem will be solved but shaking means an illness.

Someone else just wrote something to this effect. I believe that when you are awake and feel like you are dreaming and havig the bad feelings of suffocating and being held down and being really scared and that someone is there trying to take you life and breath and soul, you are having sleep paralysis, and I think that everyone that goes threw it has the same type of feelings that you do. Check out any info that u can and see if it fits and what u can do to get some help..see if that helps i know it did for me...alot and i learned how to astral plane without being afraid and it's never happened again..good luck

That sounded similar to Alien Abduction cases, the paralysis, heavy breathing, creatures, etc.
And yes, I do believe in the existence of demons. --- I think, myself, that you might have almost died. |

Demon means a big liar deceiver enemy.
If one dreamt a demon touched him means he should contrite sins soon else the enemies will overcome him. A'araf/201 . If one dreamt was fighting a demon and he won means his belief is true and strong. If one dreamt a demon was happy means he has tendency for corruption and indulgence. If dreamt a demon was sad means he will pray to god and does good deeds. If dreamt a demon took his cloths out , means if he has a directorship means he will be dismissed. If is a farmer means he will have sufferings .A'araf/27. If dreamt a few demon arrested him means he will have infamy. If dreamt he was sitting with a demon means he will commit a big sin. If dreamt he spoke to a demon means he is united with enemies of the honest religious people but he won't achieve his wish.Quarrel/10 . If dreamt he was eating and drinking with a demon means he has tendency to corrupt and follows the devil. If dreamt he took a demon or a demon went into his belly means he will be busy with corruption. If dreamt he was sitting and speaking with a demon means he will sit with a man who has immoral profit and will have infamy. Demon may also mean : 1- meeting an enemy 2- A corruption at his religion 3- Indulgence 4- Being far from praying to God. Being far from pious people. 6- immoral profit.

I have had sleep paralysis dreams very similar to the main topic. It is so fierce so damn real, that it can scar your soul for a long time.
Personally, I just chalk it up to the fact that I'm one of those 'dreamer' types with a big imagination, and just seem to be a magnet to wierd stuff like sleep paralysis and intense nightmares. Just remember these dreams happen to tons of people. You're not alone, or some freak. You're just more open to seeing or dreaming things then most people. I mean whats the worst it could be? Demons from another dimension trying to steal your soul?? |

Don’t worry, I don’t think that you were dying (saying that, you don’t really die anyway, you just shift and leave the physical body behind, so no fear about that really. Tibetans use this state as a practice for when they enter the Bardo of death.) It sounds more like you were on the verge of an out of body experience.
When you sleep, your physical body is somehow paralysed which stops you from acting out your dreams. However, you have various, more subtle layers that make up your being, which are still able to move during sleep. I have found myself paralysed before, but have been able to move an arm. Not my physical arm, but the idea of my arm or a kind of lighter arm (hard to explain). I think what made your experience so bad was the fear. I think you were paralysed by fear. If it happens again, try not to run from it. Relax and feel where you are. Relax and try to move an arm. Don’t strain and try too hard though. Don’t panic and try to wake yourself up quickly. If you have an out of body experience and are relaxed and enjoying it, it is actually really hard to stay there and not wake up. Any slight discomfort in your physical body will wake you up instantly. There only seems to be problems moving and waking up when you are fearful and trying really hard to wake up. Have no fear, you are ok. You say you were sick at the time. Did you sleep more often than is usual? If so, the out of body experience is very likely. The more you sleep, the lighter sleep is and the more likely you are to have a lucid dream or OBE. If there is something evil in your sleep (whatever you believe in.....either figment of mind or real being), just tell it to get out. No fear. |
