dreams since childhood

is it odd to have the same bad dream as an adult that you had as a child? i still have several of the same dreams, they arent every night or anything, but reccurring over the course of years.

the dream i had last night took place in an old.. old shack in the middle of nowhere it seemed. there was an old man ( icky i might say) in overalls with a red bandana sticking out of his pocket and he was polishing a type of knife -- a big knife but i didnt recognize the type. i see this but then all of a sudden i am there myself and i have no idea how much time has passed, but the shack is even more worn down and i am standing in the doorway ready to walk in -- and i am absolutely petrified. some things change as far as the course in which things go once i step inside but the place seems haunted or pocessed or something. a dread seeps into my core and a darkness that i cannot overcome seems to engulf me and after a time i wake up.

any insight would be appreciated. ive had this dream before, when i was younger, and a few times inbetween. this is one of a few i keep having at different ages. thanks to anyone who reads.

Knife
