I am new here so please do not rely on my input here. I am just learning about dreams too. My first impression is that you're feeling restrained or smothered somehow and also feeling that you are not getting support from your family that you want or need.

You have said that when you discussed your dream with your family, they sort of "blew you off and dismissed it". This reinforces my opinion (above) to an extent.

Hi,
Demon means a liar deceiver man,Curtain means a sorrow is on the way.
You kicked means you will get ill and screamed means a bad situation is on the way.

Demon means a big liar deceiver enemy.
If one dreamt a demon touched him means he should contrite sins soon else the enemies will overcome him. A'araf/201 .
If one dreamt was fighting a demon and he won means his belief is true and strong.***** **** This is also the case *****
If one dreamt a demon was happy means he has tendency for corruption and indulgence.
If dreamt a demon was sad means he will pray to god and does good deeds.
If dreamt a demon took his cloths out , means if he has a directorship means he will be dismissed.
If is a farmer means he will have sufferings .A'araf/27.
If dreamt a few demon arrested him means he will have infamy.
If dreamt he was sitting with a demon means he will commit a big sin.
If dreamt he spoke to a demon means he is united with enemies of the honest religious people but he won't achieve his wish.Quarrel/10 .
If dreamt he was eating and drinking with a demon means he has tendency to corrupt and follows the devil.
If dreamt he took a demon or a demon went into his belly means he will be busy with corruption.
If dreamt he was sitting and speaking with a demon means he will sit with a man who has immoral profit and will have infamy.
Demon may also mean : 1- meeting an enemy 2- A corruption at his religion 3- Indulgence 4- Being far from praying to God.
Being far from pious people.
6- immoral profit.

I'm new here and may not come on here often at all, but I just had to reply to this.
Well, I have to say that's quite a dream first off. I do have dreams like that. My second one[the most memorable] was I was lying in my bed and I heard someone say my name. I decided to ignore the whispering. They started saying something else. I didn't understand it. I turned slowly, and there was a "girl" there. She was transparent[as are the other demons I see in my dreams] and had blonde hair. Missing eyes, just eye holes. And she was wearing white. I'll never forget it.
You screamed and nothing came out huh? That happens to me all the time in these dreams. And I'm young too. I get them often.
Now, I have a question. Are you religious of some sort? Like some kind of Christian, or...?
I am.
My most recent dream was last night/this morning. [I had 2 last night...] I was in a car and it was going backwards and it wouldn't stop. I was staring out the back window and it was gonna crash, and the cops like blew a whistle and started after the car[it was old fashioned for some reason, like some weird movie] I knew I was gonna crash but didn't know what to do. Anyway, I turned slowly and I saw something on the side[my friend's face] and that's when I felt I was being held down so I tried to wake myself up. These dreams have occured enough to where I've figured out how to wake myself up once I realize it's a dream. Right when I realize it I get that feeling and I scream, and nothing comes out. Sorry, I'm just kinda telling what happens to me. But anyways, after I woke up, I closed my eyes and remembered what happened before the feeling, and then I felt myself being held down again, and I felt the hands moving...and my eyes were open by then.
These dreams are really creepy, my opinion. They strike your dreams the most when you're stressed or extremely tired. At least for me. My family has experienced this same thing. It's sad your family thinks you're lying. The friends that know about those kind of dreams I'm having, they don't believe it could actually be demons. So that's where asking if you're religious of some sort comes in. Are you?
Keep in mind I'm not the most wisest person, but that's where the knowledge I learn from my dad comes in.

Hi,
These dreams happen to many sleepers. The reason for the dream is usually some breathing difficulty caused by the sleeping position. It happens most often when one sleeps lying on the back, but sleeping in a sitting position or on the stomach can cause it.
The demons are conjured up from your imagination to frighten you awake.

This shows that you were gasping for air.
You screamed and nothing came out huh? That happens to me all the time in these dreams.
The dream does this to bring you to waking. It concentrates your mind on what you can't do!
These dreams are called Sleep paralysys If you look for the word, you will get more information
Cheers Wolfjk

Default nightmares or real??

If anybody would like to read this long ass post, please feel free to give your opinion on what you think this means. Thanks!
I really don't have any experience interpreting dreams, which is why i decided to join this. Hopefully, i can help ppl out in the future but in the meantime i was wondering if someone could help me out with mine. It has really been bugging me because i dont know what to make of it.
For the past three nights in a row, I've been having trouble falling asleep. I'll catch myself dozing off and then wake up startled or anxious and won't be able to fall asleep again for a while. My first dream of every night has been so realistic. The first night i was falling asleep and then woke up startled and anxious only to find i couldnt move or make a sound. I could feel a huge pressure holding me down and i would try to yell or make any kind of noise but i couldn't at first i told myself i was dreaming and could wake up but i kept trying and trying and finally when i was really scared and didnt know what else to do i woke up terrified and i could move again and the force pushing me down was gone. the next night, i went home to my parents and was sleeping in the same room with my sisters. well i was trying to sleep but i was having trouble again. Finally i dozed off, and had the same dream about a pressure pushing me down in that bed. It was creepy because it seemed so real the room the bed and trying to get up but not being able to. Then i woke up yelling No! only to find that i still couldnt get up or talk. it was like a dream in a dream. I was on my stomach fighting this pressure with everything i had. and finally i broke free. i sat up panting and scared. I saw the back of my sister or what i thought was my sister and i asked her what she was doing. She had a backpack on and said "im going to school" then she took off down the hallway to the laundry room. I managed to get up and follow her to the laundry room but when i got there she turned around and attacked me. It wasnt her but another girl with long black hair. i fell backwards and when i got up i tried to get away fighting her off of me. I crawled into my sisters bed terrified, hoping it would go away and leave me alone since i was sleeping with them in their bed. Next thing i know i wake up in my bed sweating like crazy and scared. Then last night was a little different. I was back at my apartment and was kinda scared to fall asleep. once again i was having a restless night dozing off but waking up anxious like i knew something bad was around. Finally i fell asleep and woke up with something straddling me. I knew it was the demon at once and started pushing it off of me. It kept slapping me, pushing me down and groping my chest (weird i know). I finally threw it off of me. I got out of bed and followed it to my hallway, when i got there it was only a dog, like a yellow labrador or something. then i woke up. THe even creepier thing is that in a later dream that night, i was scared of something but my roommates where like "its only a dog" and they pulled out the same yellow labrador. all of my later dreams are a little fuzzy and i cant remember them all too well. thats why these first dreams have been bugging me, because they seemed soo realistic and memorable.

in reply to the last post regarding a user fighting 'demons'. Don't be afraid, at least summon all the strength to 'fight' them. They can't hurt you. And if you fight back they won't bother with you anymore. Remember that you have something they don't, and that makes you ultimately stronger.
Laughing helps, even though you might think you are not having fun at all, just for encouragement.

It seems as if a demonic spirit is attacking you. As such you need to pray asking Jesus Christ to protect you from all harm and danger and from all demonic spirits. Ask God especially to send his angels to protect you from demons.

Hi -

To xsjado909: sorry to hear that your family didn't give you the response you needed! Whether or not these dreams are 'real' (and that term quickly takes on different connotations when you are experiencing such vivid and intense stuff) is not really the point. But most people who have not experienced these things will of course dismiss them as being 'fantasy' (which in essence, they mean as 'irrelevant').

And also to Elvira: like xsjado909, this sounds rather unpleasant! Sorry to hear that you too are going through such experiences.

There are various reasons for having these dreams - or, as I would call it - perceptions. Generally speaking, I would say you both are attuned to things beyond the usual state of consciousness. (And that is not too radical a statement surely, as even dreaming alone is recognised as just such a state.) But you both probably guessed that already, right?!

There are many such 'protections' to put in place if you are interested in finding out. For example, some posters here have talked about Jesus to combat demons. Obviously this may or may not mean something significant to you depending on your own, very personal religious and conceptual beliefs. Ultimately though the best 'protection' for anyone is to strengthen one's own being/consciousness. But meanwhile - if things are bad - certain things can be done on a super- or sub- conscious level, to be sure.

Please know that these things of which you speak do not make you 'weird' or even unusual. Although you both clearly show a tremendous sensitivity and vulnerability to such phenomena, which clearly is not much fun. I sympathise! Anyway, I have probably spoken too much, but please be assured that you are not alone in going through this, and that there is always something that can be done if the sh*t hits the fan! I would be happy to discuss further if it is still troublesome for either of you.

And, as Wolfjk points out, there is a scientific rationale for these experiences: sleep paralysis. Without taking anything away from this, I have to say that - in my own experience - I have found such explanations to be insufficient in explaining the subjective reality of attack by entities (and that's not counting the thousands, nay millions out there who are not posting on the forums!).

Do let us know how you are getting on, would love to know.
