I can ususally dream the same dream over and over again and even change the outcome if I want. I guess this is lucid dreaming. It could be months and then I decide to dream the same dream I had before. Do other people do this too?
I also dream often that I am flying (just like superman or peter pan, not sure what this means but usually I pinpoint certain places and fly down to them for a closer look. Often I am hovering over a city or water. What does this mean? Anyone else have similar experience. |

Hi,
Your not alone for a long time i used to dream the same dream over and over again i cant say i was able to change the outcome i was able to change things during the dream but no matter what i didnt escape the horro part it was like a trial and error thing - choosing a different route each time to try and avoide the ending as it wasnt a nice one. To be flying means you are feeling a sense of freedom where you had initially felt restricted and limited. To be lookign in closely at things means you are admiring them or seeing if they check your desierable standards like inspecting it.. why im not sure maybe thats something that only you could asnwer... has something been bothering you of the appearence or out look..... |

Actually, I thought that it was unusal to dream the same dreams over. This is my very first time having dreamed 3 like dreams. However, after reading some of the post here, I see that it is a common occurance.
As for Lucid dreaming, I've only a two such dreams that I would consider lucid dreaming, in which I was able to determine in the dreams that I was dreaming and kind of will it the way I wanted it to go. I suppose the more involved you get with your dreams, the more you are able to do certain things. |

You have a power. hahahaahah
Seriously though My dream life is similar to what you describe--it is very active and so I've been doing light research about it for a while now, talking to people, and finally, replying to threads---in a nut shell, I've devoted quite a bit of thought to dreaming. You asked if other people do the same thing and I think quite a few people do. However, with my lucid and reoccurring dreams I find it very hard to tell exactly how much I am consciously in control since the unconscious seems be in control at the same time. For instance, I will wake from a reoccurring dream then go back to sleep and "finish" it by consciously changing the path of the dream, but there are so many other details and paths that I didn't consciously decide to dream that also occur. When you say you decide to have the same dream again, do you actually mean you choose to before you go to bed? I cannot do that. When my dreams reappear (on their own) it is more like I just recognize or remember them (while dreaming). I see that someone interpreted what your flying dreams could possibly mean...I have had many many flying dreams! I've been sort of developing them since I was little. I am absolutely in love with them (which is why I wish I could just decide to have whatever dream I wanted before I went to sleep). Some people think that flying dreams like yours are actually astral travel, that you are really outside of your body hanging out above water and cities. When you dream these, do you recognize the bodies of water or specific cities? There has been a research on people who were asked questions they couldn't possibly know (like what was inside a building in Russia during the Cold War) and yet, they could answer in great detail. The guy who described the building said that he would just close his eyes and "go there," kind of like controlling astral traveling in waking life. What do you think? |

i re dream all my flying dreams, little things change in them. once I dreamed that I was flying like a ballerina on the shore of a beach like fifty miles an hour spinning on the sand. It was fun. Last edited by jolly : 11-17-2007 at 05:46 AM. |

Dear jolly, i too have similar dreams over and over. I always thought that they meant that any things possible and you should look forward to the possible. dont dwell on the impossible or past. Focuss on the future, keep trying, and stay happy
